@funkyphantom1 oh please, you and i both know that picking those three notes isnt totally original to one artist. not rem, not john. its the way they fit it into the song that makes it special, each are great in their own respective contexts.

Nah. His tattoos are messed up so he has already had the skin grafts. So this is after all that.

you cant discount that it could be during his addiction..he did record with other side projects..and his arms were scarred from abcesses before he got skin graft. but obviously it would be toward the end of that period if it were.

you can, he played his 62 Stratocaster there which he got when he rejoned the band after his addiction. You can see the guitar better in another video (from the same sessions)
