stop dreaming, if you've lated "over a year" and THAT'S what you've got, don't lose your time and sale the guitar, by the way..go and buy a pick, it's no so expensive...then..try douing it with 7 in 5th string and 9 in 4th and 3rd and play it as a chord, then play the 7 alone, then move the 9 of the 3rd string to 8 and do the same, then move the 8 to 11 do the same..i'm not gonna teach you the complete song because i'm gonna get bored
