Not really, it just makes unwanted noises unheard, which are nearly impossible to avoid when playing wild tapping sections with distortion. The result sounds much cleaner.

Guthrie Govan and many other players use it aswell.

nothing quite like a studio version ... i like this way more than the live one, better sound quality than the live one!
