  • Magnet seal yes.

  • Not a very fortunate place for a condenser coil to be...

Spiders. Dirty bastards. Yukk! Good job with the cleaning!

  • @DragonFlyback256 Thanks! Most refrigerators in the US have the coils on the bottom or the back

  • @coolbluelights

If it's in the back it's practically free of maintenance. There in the bottom it seems hard to access and collects rather lot of dust. Here where i live all fridges have it in the back, none at the bottom. Have not seen any domestic fridge with a fan either.

  • @DragonFlyback256 I think the reason some refrigerators have the coils on the bottom is because they're often built in to walls so the fan is needed to suck cool air in. maybe with the airflow you don't need such a large coil, Idk :P

  • @coolbluelights

It's pointless, fridges here have a top back grated spacer ledge or however you call it so you can't push it right up to the wall without leaving the minimum required air gap there. There's still that bottom airway through which you can see the compressor so even if the fridge is in a wall setback or a confined space like yours, air can still freely enter into the back space through the bottom.

  • Hmm, I Cleaning my fridge like that would be a big problem, atleast if I am alone :D Great video of cleaning the Fridge, I love videos like this :D

  • @randomforum Me too, thanks :D

  • Nice job cleaning that thing out man! Although I'm not really sure that leaf blowers are meant to be used indoors - I was half expecting all kinds of stuff to go blowing over!

  • loved the dust storm that came out when you blew the leafblower under the fridge, hahaha

  • You should notice a difference in it shutting off now. When you see that four blade fan, they do bend easy. There is an easy way to check balance on them. Ive blown the dust out with my air compressor, but here is a tip to help with the dust cloud.... leave your vacuum cleaner running with the hose laying in front of the fridge it helps some. Great vid!

  • @More350Power Ahh! that is a great idea! Thanks! I never can get fan blades perfectly balanced, I have to sit there and spin it and try to catch the blade that's bent as it's spinning, straighten it and spin it again to check it. I noticed the fridge vibrates a lot less now so I think I must have bent it during a prior cleaning. at least it's better than it was.

  • I love the vid, and it's been a while since i heard cluster fucked lol

  • Haven't heard "cluster fucked" in a while..... Love it!

  • @assfailure123 Thanks! yeah I picked cluster fuck up from Tom lol

  • LOL looks like you made a "cloud" like I did when I first cleaned our refrigerator coils. It looked foggy in the dining room for about 15 minutes. LOL!!!

  • Oh man, this reminds me. I gotta clean behind my fridge too! I bet it's really dusty. Last time I did, it was just caked in greasy dust! The grate on the back gets really dusty, and it's really hard to clean though.

But other than that, our fridge freezer just needs to be defrosted every few months [it's the old style hehe], but it's about 40 years old, and it works extremely well. The motor was made in Scotland, and the rest of the fridge was made in Canada.

  • @wilkes85 Yeah we used to have an old Philco/Ford fridge that came with the house in 1972. it still worked fine when we replaced it in 1999 but it was falling apart, the bottom glass shelf was broken, the pegs that held the wire shelves were breaking and the seal was so far gone we decided to replace it.

  • I had to do the same exact thing to my dad's fridge last year plus repair on of the connectors for one of the defrost heaters. I used the vacuum cleaner's exhaust port to blow out the radiator.

  • @DaAnalogDogg86 Yeah our vacuum doesn't have that, I tried a hair dryer but it still wasn't powerful enough

  • We have the same fridge. I bet ours is like 40 times dirtier though, I really need to clean that damn thing I bet...

We also have a water leak on it and water gets under the bottom bins inside, I need to pull it out and clean the defrost tube thingy.

  • @clubcar98 yeah if yours is the same (kenmore) it's pretty easy to clean the defrost tube. the leaf blower trick may be messy but it's definitely the easiest if you have a window nearby. ours gets really dusty quick because we have cats.

  • i'm sorry dan but i can't sit here and watch you clean the fridge for 11 minutes

  • @KrankieV2 lol it's not thaaaat boring

  • @coolbluelights lol i said that but ended up watching most of it anyway

  • @KrankieV2 haha yea I wouldn't have kept it that long if it was totally boring anyway

  • Piece of paper is a great way to test how well a door seal sticks all the way round to the refrigerator when door is shut!

  • Man that thing was nasty

  • Fix that door seal!!!! I would remove the door, and silicone the magnet back in its place. Usually i dont miss screws, but the cardboard always rips. Keep an old hairbrush around to clean the radiator.

  • @craig1974 yeah I tried fixing that darn seal but it's really hard to get the magnet thing back up in there because it's inside the plastic seal and it's ripping on the bottom... may try fixing it with some gorilla tape.

  • Man I need to employ you as my person Mexican handman XP it seems as though there is nothing electrical that you cant fix

  • @meerkat123 Just call me Macgyver ^^
