the 320gb is the real seller here. how the hell am i supposed to use 16 or 32 gigs, that's only half of my music, let alone the hours of video... finally i found a large screen video/music player with a massive hdd. and as a bonus, it has a touch screen, a sickly fast processor, a fully functional web browser (with flash), wow. im sold.

Yeah, it's an amazing system but it's not meant for pocket use, though they have a 120gb version which is small enough to fit on your pocket and it's as good as Zune or iPod or better.

I can see where a 10" or 12" model would be preferable. Not everyone wants something so small and dinky you have to squint your eyes to see anything and 10"-12" wouldnt be any worse than carrying around a small notebook pc. Actually be easier than one at that size IMHO. At $450 though you are approaching cheap notebook prices unfortunately. If they could get a 10" or 12" model at $450 that'd be really sweet!

the archos 7 comes with a removable battery, not a built in one.

The archos 5 came witha g3 connector and this one does not, so its not truely portable with internet access.

oh and

I wonder where the cheapest archos 7 is sold? I have the archos av500 - old but it does do great for watching videos on the go, i travel a lot and the archos does great! I only use it for movies. I can see that it can be bulky! It looks bulky! U can use it as a weapon !

IMO Archos should make an ipod touch killer. They're the only company that have all the technology to appeal to the mass market and rival apple, while there are plenty of choices for audiophiles etc. there are very few that genuinely challenge the touch at it's own game (wifi etc.) plus the tv support would be awesome!

Actually, the last item that you held up is not a stand. It is an adapter that allows the A7 to fit into the DVR station.

P.S.

Oh, and both the Archos 5, and 7 have a built in stand in the back of the units themselves.
