  • HMMMMMMM My home town,

    Oh how I miss it!

    Thanks for this

  • My name's Heath and I'm from Wyalusing, Pennsylvania. I stayed in Hawick between 23rd June and 7th July, and it was absolutely the most awesome thing ever. I fell right in love with the borders and I dream of going back someday soon

  • Ha! That guitar introduction at the start has the same tune as Billy The Kid.

  • I cum from hawick evreyone in my familey comes from hawick apart from baby brother who was born last year in april hes was born in edinburgh were we live edinburgh still and my dad is in afganistan to earn money for me and my mum and jack to move bak to hawick my mumm hasent slipt up wi him its just she wants whats best and is sick of the army life so... il be movin bak when i am in primary 7 next year xxx Cant wait

  • That was brilliant, I live in Newcastle on tyne, and I often travel through Kielder, newcastleton and Hawick, such beauty the area beholds, wish I could afford to move out there somewhere.

  • Teries rule! Brings back a lot of memories. I used to work here, studying how Border Scots speak for my Ph. D. in Edinburgh in '76, and been back a number of times, the last in 1998. Loved the people, loved the town. Thanks for all, and I hope to visit (and maybe interview) again.

  • Hi Ben

Thanks for that. We really enjoyed making Around Hawick and Around Hawick Too. We have also put some excerpts from the Common Riding up too. Jacqui says hi - and hopes you are doing well.

  • How come the shops are open and it's not raining?

  • Great, makes me realise what I am missing living down south, all those bars!

  • No sorry - same name different person!

  • Brill vid and song, nice harmonics, I am from Hawick now in Yorkshire, looked all Hawick to me lol

  • Nice video, but why put "Sangster the gangster" aka Evil-lyn and her tacky shop of Chinese imports in it. Her and Gilbert are a right pair of charmers..lol good work, nice video yet again

  • "Around Hawick" ??? don't you mean "St Mary's Loch - Around 25 MILES FROM Hawick?". And John Wright, that well known Teri THAT'S NO EVEN FAE HAWICK!

  • but apart from all that, good vid and good song!

  • Thanks - we like the vid and I recorded and produced the song too.

  • Actually only a small part was at St Marys Loch (the opening sequence) the rest was filmed in Hawick, around the Stirches area, at the Park, and around the hut area - if you are from Hawick then you should recognise most of the footage! My wife is from Hawick and she is very happy that it represents Hawick (most people from Hawick see St Marys Loch as their own in any event).

  • yeah I know it's 99% Hawick, just teasing! Although it is hard to tell someone's tone in a typed comment! I'm almost the only Selkirk man at my work, surrounded by Teries so wouldn't survive 5 mins if I meant that stuff!

Ever heard John Wright (adopted Teri) live? Heard him at the Fox & Hounds in Denholm. He has a BIG Hawick following!

  • Yes I know - I used to hang around with John and I recorded and produced his first two albums - Border Crossings and Of An Autumn Day - I also play keyboards on both albums.
