with all of the discussion right here, i wanna ask you guys something.
In some countries when you start riding motorcycles, you have to have a 15 hp model of 'em. then, after 2 years riding experience you're allowed to take a bigger one, 45 hp to be precisely.
And so i had that 2 particular bikes, and know i wanna do the real job: buy a bmw s1000rr.
Do you guys think after 2 years of riding "scooters" that's a good idea?
like the bike i have the 2009 cbr1000rr all black with the d&d exhaust. I was told the same thing. My dads been riding bikes for 30 years and i wont let him ride mine, cause he thinks he can show me up on it... he thinks he can mash the throttle like all the old farts did back in the day on there gutless bikes. Did you get that supercharger noise fixed?????????????? email me if you didnt ricobrh53@hotmail.com
Depends on the state. In Texas, at least in the Houston area, they don't give a shit. To be completely honest, the best way to find out is to try it and see if you get pulled over. I've had mine mounted that way before and now I have it almost laying flat up under my undertail above and behind the tire. You can barely tell there's a plate there and I have yet to be pulled over. Most people are surprised at how cool cops are to bike riders that don't act stupid and respect speed law
Hell yea. im only 18 and the first bike i rode was a GSX-R 600 about 5 months ago and now im on a CBR 1000. check my video out. just let us ride and quit with the whole "your going to kill yourself" crap.
@wwjd3d thats what i'm talking about. just because others made their stupid mistake don't mean it will happen to all. In your stupid face Angelisv. Remember there's always 2 sides to every story and your dumb ass story is not ours. BIAAAAATCH!
@alphaman1101 Let me add, however, that experience can speed up the "becoming-one-with-machine" process, but it certainly is not the be-all and end-all. And the only thing that will be affected by your age is when you can get your full license.
U want to ride hard buy a track suit tape ur lights up and hit some track days up then u learn the in and out of the bike I got 07 Gsxr 750 and believe u me I would show u a thing or to on track day its so fun be prepaired to blow some money on tires and if u are interested get a set of spare rim and tires have and don't kill urself on the road those bikes are made for the track
hi there.i want to know i recently had a exhaust replaced with yosimura exhaust since i did the replacement my cbr600 started to miss fire.i really cant figure what went wrong..i myself only did the replacement.i didnt go to any mechanices o anything.could you please give an idea of how to fix it
@franian77 Sometimes when that sort of thing is done it can over lean the system, and could cause a back fire. Or it could cause the spark plugs to burn the tips off and then miss. Or it could be something non related but I would need to know more about when it started, and how long after the change. Have you checked the plugs yet, I would start there and get a read on them. Sometimes things just happen when you work on them. Maybe somebody else here can help you ?
@alphaman1101 Honestly, it's not the power of the bike, but your own ego you have to be worried about. That's the only reason why I would tell people to start small on a bike, especially younger guys. I'm 23 going on 24, but I think I ride mature enough that a R6 is "safe enough" as my first bike. As long as you're not going to ride like a racer with the 1000RR until you're used to it, you'll be fine in my opinion.
@phant0mh0b0 I am sorry but taking this as your first bike is not something I would rec not until you have had some seasoning and learning on a bike that has allot less horse power.
"Alpha" Being on this kind of bike as your first ride is all about the POWER and being 23yr along with thinking you ride MATURE/SAFE ENOUGH will get you one thing and thats Killed!
I have ridden bikes my whole life and there is a difference this monster and a 600CC go with the smaller and work you way up!
@Angelisv I completely understand your point. But what I meant by riding mature/safe enough, is to always tell yourself that you're riding on a machine that essentially wants to kill you. So don't give it the opportunity. Avoid riding in places you'll be uncomfortable, don't show off to your friends, don't treat the throttle like a video game. I like your response to Alpha though, and it's right. "If you have to ask, you're not ready". My apologies if I came off a bit "reckless".
@Angelisv I wouldnt completely agree with that. my first bike was a cbr1000rr, and i had no problem with it. as long as you use your head, respect your machine, get a feel for your throttle, and you dont goose the fuck out of it at every turn, you wont have a problem starting out on a 1000.
@Angelisv I am 24 years old and my first bike was a 2000-GSXR 750cc (-1,+3) and fast as hell. I had to deal with people telling me I was going to "die". I am still alive and I have been riding for 8 months. Just because you can't handle your own shit doesn't mean that other people are not smarter then you and can handle theirs. Save your scolding for your kids you old fart.
Cram the "your going to die" shit up your ass. Not all of us are fuck ups at this age... Speak for yourself
@wwjd3d eh eh 8 months? ....you a real good rider now ;)
By the way, being able to control your throttle hand doesn't mean much, it just means you might die a bit later. But hey, one less of you "wise guys" on the roads for us "old fart riders" is always a welcomed deal XD
@wwjd3d My first street bike was a 05' 750. Though I had years of experience racing motoX which was helpful; street bikes are such a different animal. No doubt starting with a 600cc+ supersport is a bad idea. I did it and was fine, apparently you did as well but that doesn't mean that is was a smart decision. A person can become a much better rider quicker, by starting off on a 250 or 500 and then moving up to a 600 SS.... also safer.
@SirArthurRice it is really tuff determine aggression from text. It is impossible to tell riding style from You Tube text. Seeing as I can see you are not a moron by how you type I will say it this way. People are rude to younger guyz who ride these kind of bikes. They give a condescending tone like our good friend "Angelisv". My aggression was directed towards him for that very reason. You should have seen it in every word I wrote but hey mistakes happen.
@wwjd3d Also, judging by the aggression in your comment made in response to "Angelisv" comment, makes it seem as if you are an overly aggressive person. Typically overly aggressive people don't use good judgement.... hopefully this isn't an indication of your riding style.
@SirArthurRice Please refrain from making silly judgement calls about my driving based upon 300 words of text on You Tube chat. I can honestly say that I am not an aggressive driver. I speed when I want, however this is not a habit. lol, The more I read what you wrote the more it pisses me off because of your unimaginable assumption about my personality. I think I will leave it at this and respond accordingly to your next response.
@Angelisv i got a ninja 750 1994 as a first bike 105bhp the end of the summer i had crashed it bought hte same bike rebuild alll run 5000mile and put it up for sale,,,,,,, i got a gsxr 1000 2010 black i crashed it 2 months later total loss i broke nothing,,, got money ffrom insurance +the ninja,, bought a r1 2006 special edition, just got it stolen all this summer all i had was a fel off running dunlop d211 front metzler m5 rear, i took at corner next to my house and the gay banana frost...
@Angelisv Haha I'm starting next year, on a little 125cc. Until I'm 18, I'm getting an R6. Hopefully a 1000cc when I get more experienced. :) What you wrote is wise. ;)
@Angelisv So i just want to comment on the fact of yes the 1000 has a lot more power than a 600 but if your smart, all that power comes at how much that throttle needs to be twisted. I would rather need the power and not use it then need it and not have it for when someone tries to close me when because they don"t see me.
@Eddins1833 Hi Eddins, I understand what your saying but that is where defensive driving comes in and simply do your best to not put yourself in a "boxed in situation" and 60's have plenty of power.
Then again if you have the experience and time in on a 600 combined with the discipline and respect you are better prepared than most.
@Angelisv Gotta agree with you one that one. Hey, I'm young and I ride sport bikes hehe, but I started from a 110cc single cylinder and worked my way up to a 600cc. People have different learning curves and different methods. I personally support yours though. Be safe out there
@Angelisv i just turned 18 and i have been riding a 09 zx6r for almost a year now i have never crashed it and i bet i can ride a lot better than you old man ;)
@alphaman1101 if you have to ask if your ready for a literbike then the answer is no. but its up to you what you do with your money. do you feel ready for a 180bhp bike? i believe a gs500f is rated at 47bhp just for reference
@alphaman1101 Don't worry about your age or your experience. It has nothing to do with them, it has to do with your maturity. I'm 23 and I ride an R1. I always ride sensibly and always wear my gear. I have had a spill on it, but that had nothing to do with me doing anything stupid, I just fell over at about 20km/h lol. That shit can happen to anyone - just don't do anything to increase those chances. You'll be fine. If you ride one, you'll know if you're ready or not.
Beautiful bike sounds great but under power. The day honda would be in the top two seats in horse power I'd get one till then...Great when leaned getting stomped on straights. Great track bike though.
@OveragedUser undertail pipe was taken away to improve center of gravity and driver balance. if you look at the 2011's the exhaust is more streamlined with the body, increasing performance value. it's not only about looks, but rideability.
for some reason a lot of 1000 cc nutter bikes clatter at idle, i've had my k8 suzuki since new and it's always clattered, mine sounds like piston slap and doesn't go away till it gets hot, it's nothing to worry about.
nice bike man!! like your preference in styling.... not too much of a fan for chroming and stretching. keep it simple and clean. now all ya gotta do is get a solo seat cowl and your pretty much done. BTW who makes the lic. plate mount? Honda #1!!!!!!!!
I've not checked into the specs for engine tuning/cam timing for this engine but an "experienced" ear tells me that @erniethefart is somewhat correct. The intake/exhaust combo is making the "throaty" sound. I also hear a lot of valve overlap and mechanical noise from the injectors as well as some piston slap. All of which is perfectly normal. Remember, this engine is setup for mid to high rpm power. Compare it to a top fuel drag engine ... kinda. :)
The idle is perfectly normal sound actually. The only reason it sounds different to other bike video's on youtube I believe is because he's using a good camera which picks up a lot of detail. In real life if you listen carefully you actually hear that "horrible" sound which is quite normal. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i think that sound is to do with the air intake ducts and perfectly normal sound. Great bike!
Mines don't sound like that. Is it tuned? You are referring to that humming sound right? It sound like one of your bearings... my Accord had that same humming sound, then I replaced the AC pump. The bearing where bad.
Transmission noise? Is that what you mean? Because the intake does have a silencer, and unless he has removed it, it should still be there and silence any intake timing noise at lower RPMs. I'm sure you're refering to the screeching noise caused by the constant mesh gearbox.
@corotor12345 maybe, i don't really have any idea what your talking about does or how it sounds sorry. I'm not that technically advanced with bike internals.
When the fuck am I gonna be able to afford one!? I'm just now graduating high school at 21 years old, I called a marine recruiter yesterday, and he said, because I am on an anti-depressant, I have to wait a year of being off the medication before I can even enlist. SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!!!
new for 2012 honda is coming out with there new race bike the RVF1000r RC60 it is going to have more attention from honda than its CBR line up. they will no longer be using the cbr for the motogp racing. it will no longer use the in line 4 but a V4. it is going to have a claimed 190-200hp. honda is claiming they are going after the s1000rr and zx10r and will put them back in the game. i just cant believe they will not put as much R&D in the cbr as the new bike.
how the hell can you rev it like that inside and stand it. a couple of days ago i heard one of these rev at 8000 rpm and i thought my ears were bleeding it was so loud, but i was in an enclosed 10x6 trailer (or something like that)
that is so crazy cause at first i thought somthine was wrong with my bike until i heard this one ..i have the same bike same year an it sounds the same ...i thought the whinning noise was a probleme ..but now i see its normal ...thanks
awesome, I dont know what I want yet, akro or yoshi,, how do you keep your paint so clean, any tips, I have a 08 RR an not sure what paint products to use that dont leave scratches

Beautiful bike sounds great but under power. The day honda would be in the top two seats in horse power I'd get one till then...Great when leaned getting stomped on straights. Great track bike though.

i love CBR, it is strong anh very fast
i wish i wil have it
anhco989 6 months ago
I love CBR's but not the new one. The underseat piped version looks much better.
OveragedUser 7 months ago 31
@OveragedUser I hate those actually , but since the CBR 600 RR had those , I had to choose a 1000RR
cjgan80 7 months ago
@OveragedUser undertail pipe was taken away to improve center of gravity and driver balance. if you look at the 2011's the exhaust is more streamlined with the body, increasing performance value. it's not only about looks, but rideability.
hany259 6 months ago
@OveragedUser If you had this one, you would think much differently. I used to feel the same way.
frankensteph 5 months ago
@OveragedUser I disagree, this looks more aggressive and motogp style.

@OveragedUser i felt the same for a while, but have grown to love the new revision. its still ugly to me but i think its sexy. Weird i know

for some reason a lot of 1000 cc nutter bikes clatter at idle, i've had my k8 suzuki since new and it's always clattered, mine sounds like piston slap and doesn't go away till it gets hot, it's nothing to worry about.

@malakov5 nevermind, i see it...has it broken yet? I hear these mounts break .
malakov5 8 months ago
I've not checked into the specs for engine tuning/cam timing for this engine but an "experienced" ear tells me that @erniethefart is somewhat correct. The intake/exhaust combo is making the "throaty" sound. I also hear a lot of valve overlap and mechanical noise from the injectors as well as some piston slap. All of which is perfectly normal. Remember, this engine is setup for mid to high rpm power. Compare it to a top fuel drag engine ... kinda. :)
grankin01 8 months ago
The idle is perfectly normal sound actually. The only reason it sounds different to other bike video's on youtube I believe is because he's using a good camera which picks up a lot of detail. In real life if you listen carefully you actually hear that "horrible" sound which is quite normal. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i think that sound is to do with the air intake ducts and perfectly normal sound. Great bike!

@erniethefart its from timing gears

@erniethefart
Mines don't sound like that. Is it tuned? You are referring to that humming sound right? It sound like one of your bearings... my Accord had that same humming sound, then I replaced the AC pump. The bearing where bad.
McQueen1000RR 7 months ago
@erniethefart
Transmission noise? Is that what you mean? Because the intake does have a silencer, and unless he has removed it, it should still be there and silence any intake timing noise at lower RPMs. I'm sure you're refering to the screeching noise caused by the constant mesh gearbox.
corotor12345 5 months ago
@corotor12345 maybe, i don't really have any idea what your talking about does or how it sounds sorry. I'm not that technically advanced with bike internals.

new for 2012 honda is coming out with there new race bike the RVF1000r RC60 it is going to have more attention from honda than its CBR line up. they will no longer be using the cbr for the motogp racing. it will no longer use the in line 4 but a V4. it is going to have a claimed 190-200hp. honda is claiming they are going after the s1000rr and zx10r and will put them back in the game. i just cant believe they will not put as much R&D in the cbr as the new bike.
