Eclipse Idle with 280 cams

Im running the magniflow setup custom 3" piping, hi flow cat and magnaflow exhaust with 3", its got such a deep sound, my buddy has a 350 chevy shrtbox with exhaust and when we park side by side my eclipse is throatier.

thats a magnaflow muffler with a custom 3 inch exhaust if your lookin for something that sounds good thermal research or apexi are great

ok idk much about them but what does the 280 cams and 272/272 cams do to help the motor? horsepower/torque wise? air/fuel ratio? better gas mileage?

its really a good idea to get a retune. you shoudl gain tourque and horses but in different locations in the rev range. higher in the rev range most likely its will hurt your gas milage and tis really a good idea you do valves and what not too the 280 cam its really not that street friendly

why would you get 280s for the sound? you should purchase cams based on your setup to optimize your performance.

NO BS HEY GUYS almost every vid on utube with an eclipse or talon cam swap the dudes never rev em up they just sit idle through the whole thing im a talon owner and i waz considering these cams BUT i need to see more than just a sit still idle wit 272 cams CMON REV THE FUCKER:)

to be honest with you man the sound doesnt really change during a rev maybe a tad bit deper if ur runing an apexi exhaust u wouldnt even notice a change

Cams done right on a 4g63 you can look at around 30 chp. I have a question for the owner of the vid. How off was your tuning after installation?

yes i had to run bc springs and retainers...i had a 16g on the car cause thats what i was using at the time what u didnt see was that it was changed out for a 60-1 later

if you wanna put a 272 cam in your 95 talon, you need to fully build it with a turbo larger than a 16g to get any real result. what happens is you need a redline of close to 9k to take advantage of when the cams really start to take effect. a 16g doesnt flow enough air to support the camns which means you can say goodbye to what low end power you had, and your gonna be making less hp than if you had the stock cam in.

What the hell are you talking about? The turbo doesn't have ANY affect on the flow of the cams, its the other way around. True that 272's are over kill for 16g's but it doesn't mean they don't help. I have a semi stock head with 264/272s and it was literally a 30whp bolt on before any tuning was done.

if ur on the stock 2g piping they sell an adaptor kit to use it if hard pipes your gona have to either drill the 1g flang with smaller holes or get a greddy flange

Yes 280 cams are too extreme for a daily driver. Some people use them but I wouldn't recommend it for the average daily driver.

with the good tune i have in the car and the quick spool of a 16g its a very responsive set up..now i just have a 16g for now im lookin for a gt30r as the next turbo upgrade just a matter of money
