  • This is a crossfit movement called a sumo deadlift high pull, you can do it with a barbell or a heavy kettlebell.

  • Scott, I am a new subscriber. I was really glad to see you did a kettle bell video. I have degenerative scoliosis with a 42degree curv. Last February, I had major neck surgery and it has changed my life. Now, I am trying to build my core strength. Could you do more kettle bell, and some videos for people who are recovering from injury and trying to rebuild strength. I can't do everything on your videos, but I do what I can manage and push from there.

  • this is more of a deadlift to upright row complex than a high pull, i'd personally say i high pull is more similar to a single arm swing with a pull at the top bringing your elbow past your ear

  • This is not a proper kettlebell high pull Scott, its a good exercise but u may aswell do it with a barbell if you are going to do it like this

  • Scott Herman - i'm at the point where i have the ideal body. The only thing i need, is dropping some bodyfat to make my abs more visual. - any good advice would be awesome! And of cause, i know the food is an important factor, but i need a program that i can stick to as i work out :)

  • Upright rows cause shoulder impingments so i wouldnt recommend this exercise !! Or you can learn the hard way.

  • @milesrulezz if you are going to make a claim such as this please expand on WHY otherwise, you are just talking nonsense.

  • @ScottHermanFitness It's a well known thing that upright rows are hard on your shoulders, above all that its just an unnatural movement, especially the close grip, thats the worst. If you're going to do them at all i suggest using a wide grip on a barbell or something.

  • @ScottHermanFitness Every time you raise the weight, a small tendon in your shoulder gets pinched (known as impingement) by the bones in the shoulder. This may not hurt immediately; it may not even hurt for a long, long time. The problem is the tendon will gradually become worn down and damaged. You may not even know you have a problem until one day you snap some shit up :(
