  • 19 people had their dreams killed by life.

  • 19 people don't think Lea Salonga is that amazing and don't want to stare at her cutout.

  • hi great learning song cooooool i want to be a singer like her have you got the 25 though

  • 18 people dont have dreams! 18 people dont know what wonderful music sounds like!

  • i <3 thiisss i used this too practise! thankyou soo much!...check me out!! <3

  • i reeks that u can only thumbs up 1 time

  • Thank you so much for posting this!! :) I'm playing Fantine in my school's production of Les Mis, and this karaoke track has really helped me to be able to practice :) Thank you! :)

  • i had a dream once that i was singing this song. i found the irony quite amusing :P

  • I suspect the video is in your box waqiting to be approved by you. Thanks for posting this music.

  • I posted a response using your music...but it has never appeared.

  • 18 people have never dreamed a dream

  • The songs in Les Miserables totally are the best songs on the West End at the moment. They are just soo meaningful and they tell a story through song which is so powerful!! And this song, and 'On My Own' just tell stories soo amazingly. There is only one musical theatre song that is just as good as any Les Mis song and that is 'Dark I Know Well' from Spring Awakening. But other than that song, these are by far the best!!! <3

  • Cant. Stop. Singing. This. My school did les miserables ( susan e wagner) I played cosette but fantine and eponine are so much more soulfull. Beautiful play. My second favorite.

  • @RandomChara yeah, the i've heared that the illnes was tuberculocis.

  • @nicoladryburgh yes, you are correct, that is how she dies in the play, but in the book she dies of shock.

  • @MegaSunnybob Actually, in the book she dies of an illness. She was already weak and in the hospital when Javert told her that Valjean didn't have Cosette. But the news broke Fantine's heart causing her body to weaken even more and just die.

  • love this, thank you for posting!

  • Nooo he got in a brawl with a guy who wanted her to be his prostitute. They prolly cut that out in the school but they fight the police come then she got hit really badly rite? At least thats what i remembee

  • @Teensbeau no actually it was after she had become a prostitute that she got in a fight with the man but she refused to have sex with him

  • I...can sing opera?!!!

    *cries* I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!

  • @NekoCresent This isn't opera. It's just musical theatre.

  • ok i cried i will not lie

  • @rocksinger1232 she didn't die because she hit her head on the headbord, she died because Javert told her cosette wasn't there for her, and Fantine started freaking out and died. she hit her head as she was dying. but i agree; either way, it was very sad :(

  • @MegaSunnybob she died of the consumption... I was in les mis the school edition recently and that's what written in the plot line :)

  • this is great :)

  • Les Mis is awesome

  • love love love this song

  • Thank you :) This was lovely to sing along to :) xLx

  • @SarahHolburnMusic god lick!

  • I'm singing this in a performance next week, and I've been practising to this video - it's the best one I've found! Although it's a tad quiet for when you sing over the top of it, even on full volume, but its a good video!

  • This explains Fantine's death in les miserables. I got so sad when I heard she died by hitting her dead at the end of the bed board.......... And died. :`(

  • Nice! :D

  • ILOVEIT. <3

    story of my life much..?

  • @weliveformusicxD Me, too, me too. :D

  • is this key of c?

  • @Genevievexx3 It is E flat, at least the original les miserables version is :)

  • @Genevievexx3 Nup, B Major by the sounds of it.

  • I love this song!!!

  • Could someone let me know what key this is, and what is the next step up, from this? Yes, I blush to admit I know nothing technical about the subject but I do love to sing. I am a female but I sing this a whole octave lower. I get a fine sound but I just cannot reach the 2 lowest notes! (Growling doesn't count....) One day I may be brave enough to try this in a karaoke bar, but until then any help would surely be appreciated. Thank you!

  • beatifull

  • it is a beautiful piece of French work, all French...Viva la France !..

  • wild applause...

  • I swear I've sung this two thousand times already x.x

... I should go get some water.

  • Thanks!

  • Can I use this in a concert I'm singing in?? :)

  • how do u do a video response?

  • I just recently found my voice again, and homebound, and terminally ill, I choose life by choosing the way I spend my moments - surrounded by love, family and music. I love the way you dole out the lyrics - you have a wonderful sense of timing, and added much to my selfish little addiction. Thank you! Love, Laughter and Music, AmyLynne

  • Love this song x So very, very true

  • If you get a chance, give a listen to my version of this, I'm new to youtube and I'd like to know what people think! :)

  • amazing!!! xxx

  • WOW Lea gave a shot at playing Fantine too??? Her Eponine is CLASSIC but I know her sweet voice did great with Fantine as well!!

  • This is one of my favorite songs! I sing it all the time! :D

  • this is one of my favorite musicals along with phantom of the opera and miss saigon (top 3) I wonder if they made a soprano version of this or do i have to create one myself?

Phantom of the opera is more of my area to sing.... as this is a bit too low for my voice...

  • The auditions for the musical theatre group in my city. Very nervous but!

  • @XxTreisexX You commented on "Les Mis- I dreamed a dream karaoke" video and said auditions for a musical theater group were near/in your city for the play "Les Mis" and your gonna audition. That's coincidental, because in my city, they are showing that play :-) I live near Olmsted Falls in Ohio. I know you probably don't live here and it's some other place doing the play, but it's just coincidental.

  • This is the best instrumental I've heard! Easy to sing along to! Love the song also! Might use it for my audition! Thanks soo much it's ace :)!

  • jokeeeeee......

  • t laide

  • Didn't listen to it all but very true to the original orchestration from what I heard. Congrats on a job well done!

  • I have to turn my speakers all the way up to even be able to discern half of the notes; otherwise, it's perfect. It just needs to be a little louder, is all.

  • I can hear it fine...must just be your speakers. :)

  • ugh.. i am trying to get the nerve to video myself singing this.. lol

  • Great!:D

  • feel like crying whenever i hear this

  • great karaoke version! it's only a half-step up and that's perfect because it means i can hit the low note =P

  • Wonderful but a little louder woud be helpful. Not too fast at all!

  • the lady in the video is lea salonga, isnt it?

  • yea.. :)

  • Yes, it's Lea Salonga:)

  • It sure is. :) Her voice is so controlled! It's wonderful. :)

  • tiny bit fast. :) x

  • This version is a little too fast!!

  • It's a good tempo though. I always thought the song was a little legubrious.

  • Hmm, it's slightly higher than the original, but it's still great! Thanks for posting:)

  • great karaoke!

  • Comment removed

  • Nice to sing along to.

  • Nice version... and I came here all by myself :D

  • only, and i mean only, complaint is that the "shame" note is cute short :( not quite enough time to hold it out. but awsome other than that! thank you!

  • Patti LuPone brought me here. XD

    Susan's okay too I 'spose.

  • susan boyle didnt bring me here i was using this cuz i have to sing this as a solo 2nite :s

  • awsome instrumental!!! thanks sooo soooo much for posting this!!!!!!!

  • Salonga is the singing voice of Princess Jasmine from Aladdin in 1992 and Fa Mulan for Mulan and Mulan II in 1998 and in 2004

  • She is Lea Salonga from the Philippines. She is a multi-awarded Filipina singer and actress who is best known for originating the role of Kim in the musical Miss Saigon. She is recognized for having won the Olivier, Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics, and Theatre World Awards, the first to win various international awards for a single role. She was also the first Asian to play Eponine in the musical Les Misérables on Broadway.
