  • thanks. Great Video. that was 2 years ago. Anything better since then? Thanks

  • Dude, you rule.

  • Very clever. Worked great for my brother's AVI footage. Thanks for that tut.

  • Why my Virtual Dub render slowly with 7 fps...I don't get it.

    Waiting reply Thanks.

  • Thank you sooo muchhh! :D

  • Thanks! this tutorial is very easy to follow :D

  • It doesn't work with mp4 H264 (I tried). And it doesn't save in MP HD format. So, what's the point in this stabilization if output is a poor quality video.

  • @SergSpace Works if you pass original MP4/H264 through "Mp4Cam2avi Easy converter" (Free...) Vdub will then save in any format/quality that you have the proper codec for. (including HD.)

  • @SergSpace

just save it using a lossless avi codec such as lagarith, huffyuv, etc, you won't lose quality and it won't be anywhere near as big as uncompressed, then you take the lossless avi and use another program to convert it back. That is if you're willing to put in the extra time/effort to do that.

  • @SergSpace btw, you can get a .tga image sequence dude. then you can use it in the editor.

  • wow..amazing tutorial,. worked 100% for me thanks

  • how do you get both input and processed videos to show on the vdub screen?

  • cooool thank you !

  • fddshow wont install on windows 7

    help please

  • OMG there are folders that are missing!!! i dont have a plugins folder please help! :(

  • perfect tutorial, thanks!!

  • It's great! but smile error "This frame was not processed in pass 1" :(

  • Great stuff! Very good and beneficial video tutorial!

  • thank you very much mr :)

  • Thank you for taking the time to explain, it was very helpful.

  • Very good :) thanks for you're help - now I can improve sone clips for a new series I'm making :) I'm trying to make it look professional and I hope this will help!! Thanks

  • thx dude!

  • Very Good.. tks!

  • You rock! I have an hour of footage from the AMARG Boneyard which was sea-sickness inducing due to the un-paved road. Recovered flawlessly!

  • thanks for uploading this tutorial, it really helped me out. I tried following somebody's written instructions on another website, and they were getting me nowhere!

  • you dont need to add another deshaker and deselect the first! After the first pass, you simply enter the config window of Deshaker and select pass 2. And save as avi.

  • Thanks!

  • Followed your directions but for some reason the video still isn't as steady as it should be & also the video quality seems very poor still although i've tried using different encoder/decoders..ie ffdshow/divx

  • I have windows xp pro I cannot get virtual dub to accept deshaker in the plugins file I place deshaker there but it does not appear in the "add" menu can somebody help me! Ihave also "video pad editor "and have deshaker in that which accepted the file in its plugin file without any problem but I am just annoyed that virtual dub will not do the same.

  • Extraordinary stuff buddy, and very patiently explained.

    Thank-you.

  • i can not upload high resolution videos? help?

  • Great guy thanks great!!!

  • I have a Vado HD (2nd gen) 8GB video camera. It records in H.264 AVI at 30 fps. Can I use the VirtualDub and Deshaker to edit the HD video coming from the Vado HD? Will it work just as you instructed on this video for HD 720p from the Vado HD (2nd gen)? Will the HD picture quality be affected at all?

  • it can;t save in 16:9 (((((((((((((

  • works perfect. Thanks for tutorial :)

  • can you please help me? i am using a flip mino hd, and i converted my video to avi, and followed your instructions, but my final video looks very "interlaced". it has horizontal lines on the video. do you know what the problem is?

  • i dont have the fold plugin

  • Great Video thanks so much for the simple instructions!!!

  • Was less shakey for me but had weird zooming in and out plus skipping frames etc :-(

  • wait, mine didnt come with plugins

  • thanks!

  • This is an excellent video tutorial. It covers the whole process from beginning to end, without adding a lot of extra options. Instead, it covers the basic quick-start process. Thanks!

  • the output filesize came out really big, how to compensate for that ? thanks for the vid.

  • @yourtube20061 put it into windows movie maker afterwards

  • i only have one image and not two

  • since I need to run one pass at a time, how do I set for batch process? Thanks

  • what compression did you set it at to keep the quality and file size?

  • Thanks, this helped a lot. However, the videos that I deshake on the best settings are freaking HUGE (4 second vid: 130 mb)

  • @R4nd0mDud3L0l then convert it again using other software

  • @R4nd0mDud3L0l put it into windows movie maker afterwards

    do you understand me? xD

  • @adanwindowsxp

u need to untick the first filter when applying the 2nd deShaker

  • Nice tutorial, thanks!

Where does ffdshow come in? You mentioned to associate it with Virtual Dub, but didn't use it in the video. Is ffdshow just for playing back the avi file later/outside of Virtual Dub?

  • Thanks buddy

  • Thanks! Very great tutorial! :)

  • First off...Deshake is the bomb! It's a real life saver for the Kodak Zi8 camera. My only issue is, I load my .mov file, run the deshake, and then save the file as an .avi. When in playback, the video starts off okay but then slows and the audio ends 7-8 secs before the video does.

    Any ideas?

  • @Thrash2010ATL did you fix this problem? cuz I have a zi8 too and was gonna run this deshaker. The only thing I can think of is to check the frame rate. In VD, it shows the video and audio frame rate as being slightly different???? Maybe synchronising to be the same will fix the problem?

  • what is ffshow use?

    i use sony vegas,

and my camera file is mov.

even i convert it oso show, wat audio stream or invalid

  • why i cant open the file? any file oso cant open

  • thanks very much, best tutorial on de shaker

    subbed

oh and btw cute dog :)!!

  • most helpful :)

  • Thanks Alot!!

  • Hey man my video (after Deshaking it) is a bit laggy on the parts it was deshaked, do you know this is normal?

  • @xKais3rx Hmm, it shouldn't be like that. Tell me, what kind of CPU are you using? Some older CPUs have a hard time decoding medias, especially HD quality and higher resolutions.

  • @JaymarkTech Its not old man, it is an AMD Phenom II X6, so i guess i should be more than ok. But it happens i dunno why. Can it possibly be the Codec or something? (Sorry about my english, its not my first language :I )

  • @xKais3rx Yeah it certainly isn't a CPU problem. Try using VLC or Media Player Home Cinema 64 as your player. Also, if you believe it is codec issue, try installing the K-Lite Codec Pack for your OS. All off these are freeware. Let me know.

  • @JaymarkTech Well...Nothing happened, i downloaded the Codec Pack. Tried opening it with other Media Player and everything is the same. If it helps, the video was captured from a Panasonic gs320 via Firewire with Sony Vegas Pro 9.0e capture option. :(

  • @xKais3rx Try saving as Old Format AVI

  • @JaymarkTech Nothing :(

  • @xKais3rx What video format does your cam produce?

  • @JaymarkTech Mini DV

  • @JaymarkTech i've made a video (its in my channel) demonstrating my problem Thank you very much. :)

  • This is great man :)), super video, love itt

  • thanks alot man!

  • thanks, i was forgetting to de-select the Pass1, thus was getting the red and white dots in the output.

  • nice tutorial!!

    i have problems

the virtual dub folder doest appear pluggins

    whats the poblem??

  • @hunsua did u get a answer ,philly all day.......13

  • @biggshugg13 nop never i have waiter for more than 2 months!!

  • @hunsua thanks,man,u get a stabalizer yet,im still looking,

  • hey thanks for the tutorial, is the output file being huge after normal ?

  • @arfax That depends on many things- size of original file, length of video, codec used for VirtualDub. The one I used in the video is AVI and they are generally big. You can trim it down by converting the file to another format. If you have Win7, try using Windows Live Movie Maker and convert it to WMV, or any program you use to convert AVIs.

  • Thanks, dude.

  • Thanks, dude. Your tutorial ia so helpful.

  • thanks for the vid

  • Thanks I used this and when I watched the avi the video was kind of laggy as was the audio and completely unwatchable. Any ideas ?

  • @B3ATNIK Use the free program called GSpot and load your original AVI on it and tell me what codec it is using. Then I can give further advice.

  • excellent ! good work and very thanks for you help

  • @abascaldesign

    Glad to help!
