Aww so cute! I have a Shiba Inu. For all who want one. I recommend training at a super early age. I train dogs and the Shiba Inu is a very difficult breed to train. So it's cute and adorable when they r young but they r highly spirited when they get older! I wish u luck to future Shiba Inu owners.

@Misterdre2you You need to get a Shiba from a breeder getting one from a petstore or any kind of dog from a petstore is a horrible idea as you have no clue what that animal might have and what harm it can do in your home to other animals. Chose your breeder carefully and make sure you feel comfortable with them as you would a best friend because once you get one from a breeder you are pretty much in contact with them for the life of the animal

You really should wait until the puppy is 8 weeks old to remove it from its litter. The mother will potty train the puppy during this period so he learns not to go in his nesting area, which is extremely important for crate training. They are also going to be traumatized by loud noises and sudden changes when they are younger, including moving to a new place or away from their litter mates. They learn that biting can hurt and not to bite hard. There are other reasons, too. Biological ones.

Wow! Two and a half weeks?! Do you own the dame or did a breeder sell him to you that young? There's a lot of things that puppies miss out on if they're not kept with their mother and littermates until about eight weeks. One thing they learn from their littermates is bite inhibition (i.e. if you bite too hard, the game stops-- it teaches them to be gentle).

The kennel we got ours from is Koyote Kennels. Laura, the owner, allowed us to come pick our the one we wanted from the litter... and then we ended up going back every 2 weeks to visit with the puppy, so the video is actually taken at the breeders house.
