It's possible that I've seen every single ZPZ live tidbit on YouTube or at least most all of them and I had not noticed this until today somehow. Not my fav FZ song (or top 100 for that matter) but ZPZ does a great job here!!!I just love Ray's vox, I too wish he was playing guitar here. I vote for Steve Carrell's replacement on The Office to be Darryl from the Warehouse. He sings really well, and is more polite than that Tracy Morgan. At least that's what Phyllis says. ... You know, office gossip.
I think I was more saying the vocals on this tour seem a lot closer. Ray White/Ike Willis is usually who I think of when my mind goes to Zappa's vocal stylings. Nappy is good, but I found his voice on some songs was a bit..unfitting?
Also it seems that they move a bit toward accuracy as opposed to tempo/feeling. Like Zappa's live versions of Peaches are wwaaaaay faster than the record.
And they also seem really guitar heavy but I have the DVD with Vai.
