But the motor would burn up easily, because it was not designed to carry around twice the weight of the motorcycle, so the torque would be lacking at slower RPM (under 7k). Much easier to haul ass with 200hp and only 650lbs, than with 2,300lbs. (?)

Bought the Panda 100bhp for my wife last week. Have to say I can't stay out of it and I have been fortunate enough to drive sporty Alfas, Audis, VWs, Saabs etc.
It's almost 3 years old and I can honestly say it is the most enjoyable driving experience I've ever had in 19 years of driving. Go and buy one. You will not regret it.

I'd say with 10 grand, I'd get an old MX5(first gen with 1.6), suspension,turbo, wheels/tires, exhaust upgrades, and because I like the off-center stripes, I'd add those too.
The reason not many of these cars make it to amerian/canadian shores is because of engine size....1.2.
And it has to deal with the heat in florida and then the snow in new york.. and if canada only have it you can just drive it over the border....and back to square 1
It can easily deal with the heat in Italia and snow in Sweden. Trust me, these cars, though small, are extremly refined. They are actually made much better (in terms of quallity) than some US fullsize saloons. The problem is imho that in US ppl arent used to buy such a small cars.
Come to north america -renault and FIAT. A fiat will be my first car, i HATE the oversized and underperforming vehicles here in Canada. Cars like these would squash the american auto market for good, and i would be happy.
I own an example of each & if I had to keep one of them it'd be the Panda as it stands head & sholders above the Twingo as a car for driving in. The 100HP inherits it's soul from the Cinq/Seicento Sporting; you don't care if you're not going that quickly because you're having fun, just in this case you're getting there quicker too.
The Renault isn't a bad car, in fact it's easier to drive in a lazy manner & has a more forgiving ride, it's just the Fiat has more spirit in it.

Fiat group has won European car of the year 12 times - thats more than shitty Renault or any other maker. Panda won car of the year in 2004 and Fiat 500 won in 2009 so FIAT RULES....stop being such a dumbass and learn how to write clear english. Bought the Panda 100bhp for my wife last week. Have to say I can't stay out of it and I have been fortunate enough to drive sporty Alfas, Audis, VWs, Saabs etc.
It's almost 3 years old and I can honestly say it is the most enjoyable driving experience I've ever had in 19 years of driving. Go and buy one. You will not regret it.

I'd say with 10 grand, I'd get an old MX5(first gen with 1.6), suspension,turbo, wheels/tires, exhaust upgrades, and because I like the off-center stripes, I'd add those too.

The reason not many of these cars make it to amerian/canadian shores is because of engine size....1.2.
And it has to deal with the heat in florida and then the snow in new york.. and if canada only have it you can just drive it over the border....and back to square 1

It can easily deal with the heat in Italia and snow in Sweden. Trust me, these cars, though small, are extremly refined. They are actually made much better (in terms of quallity) than some US fullsize saloons. The problem is imho that in US ppl arent used to buy such a small cars.

I own an example of each & if I had to keep one of them it'd be the Panda as it stands head & sholders above the Twingo as a car for driving in. The 100HP inherits it's soul from the Cinq/Seicento Sporting; you don't care if you're not going that quickly because you're having fun, just in this case you're getting there quicker too.
The Renault isn't a bad car, in fact it's easier to drive in a lazy manner & has a more forgiving ride, it's just the Fiat has more spirit in it.

Listen to the commentary - it's about driving feel not just speed.
My 70s Fiats were great drivers cars but yes they rotted and were unreliable - so too Renaults, Simca's, Rovers, and Jaguars.
I had 7 years of totally reliable motoring from my Cinq Sporting, and chipped it was amazing.
I'd buy the 100hp any time, over the much hyped 500, which is just about styling.
