deserves better than the 30 year old theocratic dictatorship it has. At first the protests were anti-Ahmadinejad but it seems to be getting to the stage of challenging the Islamic Revolution ideology itself and what it has done to Iran because right now Khamanei seems to be an apologist for Ahmadinejad. Birmingham is one of the top twenty five cities in Europe by population. Sure, its much smaller than London, but its bigger than the average British city.
My dear friend, As I read your profile I see that you look like a wise and thoughtful person,so I though to say something that might help, one problem that clouds most Americans judgement is that they think the world is U.S. and Europe is a place for vacation, now with EU, Europians are making the same mistake, there are over 40 cities with more than 5m pop and more than 100 with over 3m pop. so I say Brum is very small.
BTW just curious lots of Iranian vids R U Iranian?
athoughtfulman- I am very interested in urban demographics and its important not to confuse metropolitan populations with city populations. In world terms, yes there are many places bigger than Brum but if you look at the European avarage, you would see it is over that. Most European cities tend to avarage the 400,000- 600,000 range. Birmingham is over 1 million. I appreciate your compliments. I am not Iranian- I am British-Northern Irish but I am very interested in the current situation there.
athoughtfulman- Just to clarify, I agree with you that in world terms, Birmingham is relatively small, but I was referring to it within the context of the UK and EU.
Yes Bro I am Iranian, I thought you should not be Iranian, especially with Belfast home town but I am surprised you were interested in Irans sitiation people are so busy with nonesence these days ie M.Jackson rather than other things, but it seems you are interested in liberty and freedom obvious from videos, and you are right in UK context Brum is definately above average, I never wanted to say brum is a bad place, most concepts are relative, when I was comming here I thought different.
athoughtfulman- Your'e right. MJ was a very talented performer but I am tiring of the voyeuristic response by some of his fans particularly when they imply its the most important event in the world. Im pleased to talk with you because I would like more oppertunities to talk with Iranians; in recent months ive been very interested in the geopolitical situation/development of the region and I think this may be a turning point for the Islamic Republic. I think a 4,000 year old civilisation cont...
If I wanna say very shortly, I can say the muslim are in situation that christions were at medieval times, Islamic government has the power, and some people still believe whatever religios says is true, others struggle to change, China and Russia are milking Iran, U.S. milking gulf countries, E.U. is also taking a bite.
athoughtfulman- I agree. Islam seems to be having an internal strive at the moment (like 16th century England) between Islamists on one hand pushing their Wahhabist agenda and Moderates on the other. Of course there is a thin line of exact definition. In parts of the world such as Somalia, the savagery of hardline Islam is still obvious.
The main important difference between Islam and other religions is that Mohammad was the only prophit who actually got to power, so Islam is governmental and political, and so there are many rules about what to do in society, which a muslim should never question them, like Hijab and female rights and even many females really believe they are less than males, so the problem is bothe social and political.
athoughtfulman- lol- a good question. I have DSPS (Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome) which means my sleeping pattern is all over the place. Im trying to combat it, but its a habit I got into about 8 years ago and its become hard to get out of. I tend to think more at night/early morning.
I agree with you about the structure of Islam. Although im not well researched on the foundation of the religion its political and social impact seems to be more profound than the other Abrahamic faiths.
