What I don't like about this game is the balance. A mage and a Archer could take down all of mordor together if used right. And one soldier can destroy the whole fellowship.
I was looking forward to playing this when it came out... but was too annoying... when playing as archer you would own... but makes canceled out your arrows... when playing as soldier... even 1 enemy soldier could keep you locked in a never-ending cycle of stuns... and I just gave up

EA's older linear LOTR 3rd person games may have been simplistic, but at least the fighting was fun and actually looked like it does in the films. The mages and all the colorful shit in this game make the fighting look so dumb and unlike the films.
The missions are soooo short, some of them only take 10-15 minutes, even on normal difficulty. The graphics are very bad as well. I get the impression that they didn't put much effort into this game. However, it is quite fun and has good replay value.

@Ceplir Yes but only on certain maps where you can find trolls squatting and waiting for someone to approach them and press E in order to control them, you cannot pick them as regular characters. Same with ents.
Honestly this is fantastic game but due to no online for all platforms you can only play for so long until u get bored and pick up a different game. I always go archer because am a pure headshot freak when it comes to this game!

Oh, and everyone, this isn't the only game where orcs cast spells, in The Third Age they do too, in fact, goblins, orcs and even uruk hai have spell casting abilities. And I didn't see anyone complaining!

@Kayruul Its because they based it off of Star Wars Battlefront. Because this is sort of a medieval thing, they dont need as many classes as SWBF which had like 7 a faction or something like that. And that game didnt have a diffrent model for each player, just differing in the FACTIONS. Plus the classes randomize on the battlefield. I totally agree that a bunch of fat orcs putting up shields 24/7 should NOT be on the battlefield, lol.
Orc Mages don't really make sense but they are necessary for gameplay. Everyone has gotta agree that it would be kinda gay if they had a mage class but all you could do is light stuff like heal or buff your allies. Nah they had to add the fireball and lightning attack. Though I dont get why they had such a OP melee attack...
the stupid thing about this evil campaign is that if sauron regained the ring the free peoples wouldn't have run off to different areas eg: men to gondor, elves to rivendell etc. they would have banded togeher like the last alliance. Sauron would have had no chance with the combined might of Gimli, Legolas, Aragorn, Gandalf and Elrond
@monkey3782 actually no, the elves were already fleeing Middle Earth to the Greyhavens by this time, in fact Lorien and Rivendell were the some of the last places to still be inhabited by the elves, and in Return of the King the elves fled from Rivendell. So that removes elves from the equation. The men of Rohan were weakened by Sarumon and Gondor was under poor the leadership of Denethor. So if Sauron had the ring, they would be screwed.

I think they should have made more orc models, especially the Orc Mage, fat orcs are cool but there shouldn't be tons of them running around on the battlefield
People that say this game sucks should shut the fuck up, if they didn't like it, why did they buy it before downloading the demo? and why are they looking up videos on this game...
This game is awesome, though a lot may disagree, I think a lot agree aswell. There are many different kinds of gamestyles for lotr, play ones you like...

@Kayruul Its because they based it off of Star Wars Battlefront. Because this is sort of a medieval thing, they dont need as many classes as SWBF which had like 7 a faction or something like that. And that game didnt have a diffrent model for each player, just differing in the FACTIONS. Plus the classes randomize on the battlefield. I totally agree that a bunch of fat orcs putting up shields 24/7 should NOT be on the battlefield, lol.

Orc Mages don't really make sense but they are necessary for gameplay. Everyone has gotta agree that it would be kinda gay if they had a mage class but all you could do is light stuff like heal or buff your allies. Nah they had to add the fireball and lightning attack. Though I dont get why they had such a OP melee attack...

the stupid thing about this evil campaign is that if sauron regained the ring the free peoples wouldn't have run off to different areas eg: men to gondor, elves to rivendell etc. they would have banded togeher like the last alliance. Sauron would have had no chance with the combined might of Gimli, Legolas, Aragorn, Gandalf and Elrond

@monkey3782 actually no, the elves were already fleeing Middle Earth to the Greyhavens by this time, in fact Lorien and Rivendell were the some of the last places to still be inhabited by the elves, and in Return of the King the elves fled from Rivendell. So that removes elves from the equation. The men of Rohan were weakened by Sarumon and Gondor was under poor the leadership of Denethor. So if Sauron had the ring, they would be screwed.

@tsakaful Playing mage is actually quite hard, as you don't have the raw hitting power of the Warrior, the long range power of the Archer, or the insta-death backstab of the Scout. You need to think carefully about what you do, or you'lll die a lot.
