I wish more ppl would watch this. All your tips are very true and useful indeed! I've seen many variations of voice over auditions that have awful background noise, they don't correctly fix their audio files (too loud, too soft, etc), and when voice over directors want a particular part filled...they expect the ppl to come to them. Sometimes if they want something they needa go out and find ppl and be professional like you said. A very good and informative video :) great job!
For machinima movies, usually a voice actor doesn't charge nor does a director offer to pay the voice actor, but it is possible for the two to work out some arrangement regarding money. I personally choose not to charge money even if it was offered to me, because I do this for fun, it's nothing more than a hobby and a great way to get experience. I don't take it overly seriously like I'm going to get recongnized by some big agent because I was in a sims series. To me, it's pure fun!
