  • Omg azimuth, ideal

  • who is the azimuth prop maker?

  • now can you face it in different direction?

  • Isso deve uma vibração tremenda na embarcação!

  • I'm calm cause its not my boat to blow up heh heh

  • stick your finger in it

  • how do you get the prop to spin 360 ?

  • @whalesforever1 They're most likely pod drives

  • must be keel cooling

  • isn't this the WRONG way to run boat engines ??????

  • Well.... it may be a raw water cooling system for the mains. Running them for that short of a time is easily ok.

  • The bearings are sealed and the cooling system is also sealed, keel or skin coolers. That type of drive system is all self-contained. Never seen a ships wheel for steering that type of drive system... cool though. Good job dudes!

  • Those look like Azimuth thruster ( or azi pod for short) also i hope you had a cooling system set up!

  • These are Z drives

  • I'd love to see a vid of it in the water... Working would be even better! Find something big to pull around!

  • Seen a lot of boats and never seen one with props like this... Very cool

  • Better be careful not to run those props out of the water for more than 10 seconds or so, otherwise the bearings would burn out and render the engines inoperable.

  • as well as the engine cooling system!

  • Reallly nice machine...large propellers and with four blades! it will pull really hard...I guess this istem was invented by a German company in the 30's...to be used in harbour tugs..not sure.

  • Betcha that baby pulls hard! Neat Boat!

  • never heard of air-cool on such a big boat,prop-shakts sound kinda loose, neat boat

  • what about a dry water pump, highbuck to replace, never run any boat, etc without water connected to water pumps.

  • there is no water pump, all is air cooled.

  • @koperenasbak thats pretty cool the military builds such good equipment.

  • correct me if im wrong...but isnt it bad to run a boats motor outa water?

  • only to it over heats if you have a cold motor it wont matter to it gets hot

  • Only if it has an open cooling system. This may have a closed cooling system.

  • Most diesels run a closed, at least all the ones I have seen run a closed. And those are safe to run out of water for short periods of time.

  • great way to kill your shit

  • You obviously know ZIP about this type of boat. Read up first.

  • my bad its air cooled engine but still hes revving it high with no load and some drives need water to cool the outer drive bearings and when its dry it can heat up and you suck a dick i work on engines and boat engines too ass

  • yeah... dont take it personally, i was in a bad mood yesterday.... had to take it out on something

  • okay...........

  • Is it the Volvo IPS system?

  • No, Volvo IPS is for high-speed yachts and has counter-rotating, forward-facing propellers. This is a mechanical azimuthing Z-drive system, which is common on tractor tugboats and many big ships. IPS is simply a consumer-oriented application of the same system on a much smaller scale.

  • Cool , though it looks props are changed (right on portside ?)

  • Hope you soaped those down a little; you didnt burn anything up did you? Hope not, thats a bad ass prop system on that old ass boat. Cool. 5*

  • isnt it water cooled?

  • @DionysiosA76

Yes, but they can connect water from outside ;)
