American Gangster is known to be one of the worst Jay's albums, although The Blueprint is a classic, along with the Black Album and of course, Reasonable Doubt. I can't really connect 4 elements of the nature and alchemy with the 4 elements of hip hop, it's just too different for me. I love your theory about sampling and transforming the energy into sth new.
