God bless all firefighters especially the 911 ones. The ones before 911 and after, you guys are an awesome breed of people. Thanks for saving the many lives of countless folks.
wow you can add! friggin awesome dude. im actually 108. i was born the same day in the same town that mckinley was assassinated. and my brother, asa, once boned norma talmadge.
This is just amazing! I was born in Queens in August of 1943, and lived in Astoria the first seven years of my life. I said to my mother, "where has daddy gone?" He's out looking at a fire! I will never forget that! Thank you so much!
Very good video. I am a OBSESSED with history and I am studying the Traingle Shirtwaist factory fire. If you have any info or website you would suggest tell me.
They need to show things like this in school to teach kids what they need to try to do in life. Kids today are a mess and couldn't hope to accomplish things like this.
Sounds like an idea but... I don't think were in dire need of Fire Fighters just yet, as there is a waiting list for the FDNY and the next test is in 4 years. Around 18,000 People took the test last year and only I believe 600 got accepted. So with these statistics I think were doin alright. Maybe more volunteers if anything.
over 30,000 took the test and so far theyre up to 2000 hired. its too glorified all the volly buffs want to go to fires but dont realize that theyre going to be slinging a mop all day long. 300 will not make it through the academy, and the list will continue to at least 4000.
OFF Topic but not much , it is sad than in a city where 1200.00 a month is considered cheap rent the NYPD is paid 25,000 a year on average. ITS JUST WRONG.
this happpened in 1911
