8-Celibacy is neither unnatural nor unbiblical. "Be fruitful and multiply" is not binding upon every individual; rather, it is a general precept for the human race. Otherwise, every unmarried man and woman of marrying age would be in a state of sin by remaining single, and Jesus and Paul would be guilty of advocating sin as well as committing it.

@Gatta9 Yes but the call to priesthood is not necessarily a call to celibacy. Celibacy was once a disciplined used by monks and not parish priests. Later it was forced on all clergy. This should have happened.

@oakking1 This "first pledge" broken by remarriage cannot refer to previous wedding vows, for Paul does not condemn widows for remarrying (cf. Rom. 7:2-3). It can only refer to a vow not to remarry taken by widows enrolled in this group. In effect, they were an early form of women religious—New Testament nuns. The New Testament Church did contain orders with mandatory celibacy, just as the Catholic Church does today.

About father Alberto Cutie's statement, isn't humble to the Catholic Community. If he had doubts he should've requested time to deal with his issues. The offenses to the Catholic Community would've been only on his faith. He's sorry he got caught, and he is negotiating his fame and pocket to a church that picks up his tab. Alberto Cutie I feel sorry for you. I am not perfect but I know you need a lot of praying to do.

Eastern-rite Catholicism allows married men to become priests (although they may not marry after ordination). Padre Alberto can step down as a Roman-rite (Latin-rite) priest, marry the woman, then be ordained as a Catholic priest of the Eastern-rite (also called Byzantine Catholic or Uniate Catholic) and that way he will still be a Catholic priest, (albeit not a ROMAN Catholic priest) and still maintain Communion with Rome.

100% in agreement with you my friend...NO matter how much anyone prays, the bottom line is that if Cutie does not ask for forgiveness for betraying the church, God and his parishoners, he will not be forgiven, for God will only forgive those who repent and ask for forgiveness.
Eg. Jude iscariot repented after he turned Jesus in, but did not ask for FORGIVENESS. This modern day Iscariot Cutie is doing the same thing. and people justify him!!! That is plain sickening.
