Dammit I miss this show!!! This was definitely one that when it came on i let everybody know that I must not be desturbed..LOL!! Got seasons 1 & 2 on dvd. Waiting for the rest of the seasons but Warner Bros or whoever has rights is bs'ing with releasing them.

I'm not making excuses for Steve for being pathetic, but he only became useless after he accidentally kills officer Ross while trying to protect Bosco. He fires his gun as the moment Ross kills the bad guy Steve was aiming at, so his bullet missed and hit Ross. It's terrible, but was an accident. It was the combination of shame of killing a fellow officer and the fear of the situation that made him pathetic.

The new guy probably was never brought up around violence and might be a pussy but at least he gave it a try. I think he took the job because he wanted to help others but didnt realize how bad things would be as a New York City Cop and didnt know he'd be dealing with this kind of pressure.
