Also, Flowers' singing follows Bono's original almost identically. The structure and performance of the instrumentation is nearly identical to the original. people here need to chill. the idea of making a "cover" is not to make a version that sounds exactly like the original but to embrace the song and make it sound like their own. The Killers did an amazing job with this song. The Killers as a band take a huge inspiration from a lot of others bands but none greater than U2. So it seems for them their careers have gone full circle and the Killers should just keep going and make that album already!

This cover is getting lots of recognition - but that's largely because it doesn't at all depart from the original. The whole language of the song is U2 (it doesn't depart from the simplistic bass line, shimmering guitars and high vocal performance of the original), and so that's why people like it.

Me, I prefer an artist cover a song and in doing so speak it in a different language...

Actually, you can come here if you don't like the cover.....how the Hell else would you hear the song to know if you like it or not. I think it's far more healthy to hear why someone does or doesn't like the song then everyone just agreeing that it's great just because it's The Killers.
