VERY NICE filming! I am watching this from Canada, and assume the gala was a display of old and rare motive power, and maybe the passenger car-sets. Can you explain the horn systems on some of the engines.. it seems like the engineer ( driver ) can play individual notes, like a trumpet, in certain sequences..almost like making a tune to suit his creativeness. Or are there rules dictating what sounds are to be made? The standard in North America is 2 longs, 1 short, 1 long for crossings.
Thanks, nearly all brittish diesel engines are fitted with a horn that can play two notes. Its mostly tradition that they sound the horns in this way. Hope you enjoyed my video!
Thanks for the info. I have some videos posted you might find interesting, mainly cab-rides on Canadian National, on SD-40 Electro Motive Division freight engines. You can find them probably just by googling ( videos ) by "sidomitch" or Canadian National Railway cab-ride. Regards, Rick.
Very good coverage of the gala, and it's strange to see parts of the line that I have stood on many times over the years, no longer there. Thanks for the video. 5*

The 10 is for the 10mph speed restriction over the open road crossing, the W a whistle board or horn board if it is a diesel locomotive.
