For one what i've noticed was that this live version of Northern Cross is shorter that usual. Now the poor audio quality could be that this was recorded off of a television set and as we all know TVs don't really have good built in speakers.

Now as a singer she is pretty good. She did have some good songs in MF and thats just about it really.

that's not really true, while the studio version of this song indeed sounds better, may'n didn't have to dance and worry about the audience then, i think she did a pretty good job here. to state an example of what i think is bad, hirano aya's gekichu concert was horrid in live, and even then she wasn't putting up much of a dance.. that's my opinion of a bad live singer.

Actually, this song(in the video) sounds really crappy. It lacks the highs at the end of every sentence. This could be because the quality is poor or the soundtrack songs are edited significantly. Plenty of theories there.

I must be the only one that thinks this dancing sucks because it's all wiggling and arm jerking.

this is most definatly Northern Cross and not infinity. Infinity is the insert song from episode 7, and also starts of Zetsubou kara tabidachi wo kimeta ano hi.

Yeah, she sings as Sheryl in Macross Frontier anime but Sheryl's real voice actor is Aya Endo I think. Superb song btw =)

For those that don't know yet. May'n is the seiyuu of Sheryl Nome. SO those of you that said Sheryl is better news flash she is the same as here. Obvious that a live version will sound little different. Both to me are the next lin Minmay, simply because Megumi is more a mellow singer thus giving a very sweet version of the powerful and straight and high pitched Mei. Both are very good and neither should be seen as lower than the other.

Great comment. I wish her dancing was more like Tamaki Nami's, but vocal-wise, her live performance was amazing. As for being the next Lin Minmay, I think Ranka's singing helped Frontier more than Sheryl, but hey the more the merrier :)

That's what the series lead you to believe, she being a "failed project" helped to that notion but, in fact Sheryl influenced more on the series and has more songs than Ranka. You see that Ranka was used more like what Minmei in Macross and Sheryl looked like Basara in Macross 7. Both great singers both aided the the UN Spacy but in fact one singing influenced one side more than another. It was like some sot of balance between. Still I praise both

La gran diferencia entre Ijima y May'n estriba en la potencia que esta última le imprime a sus canciones, mientras Mari Ijima le ponía un sentimiento más romántico a su interpretación. Desde mi punto de vista "Minmay" cantaba por el futuro incierto de la humanidad, mientas "Sheryl" canta por no claudicar en ese andar que ya ha conseguido la humanidad después de sobrevivir a tantas calamidades !!!!
