I will agree, two of the most beautiful birds to ever fly under a rotor. One time one of these angels came to pick up my new little angel as my preterm daughter needed to be flown to the NICU aboard one of these angels. Granted it was a 230, but is is a very close relative to the 222 and just as beautiful. My daughter is doing fine, but I will always remember that Bell angel picking her up and carrying her away.
The Bell 222 & the Bell 430 is one of my favorites of all rotorcraft. Both birds look better with the tricycle landing gear rather than the skid type landing gear. Strassi is right about the original movie Bell 222, "Airwolf"! Too bad.
I wonder how much one of those beauties costs? (er...and how much to keep it, and I suppose there would be fees to fly it in UK airspace...oh, and how much to learn to fly a helicopter would be useful!?)
Yes it crashed. No only one that built. Few years after show was gone. They sold helicopter to other country. In 1992 they crash during bad storm. Out of control and went down.
But they did built other one for display but now it destroy.

Had the Alpha to Gulf in greenland; i believe the Delta was the former nightmare of nighthawk. All oskar yankee registered!

In the world of dismally fugly helicopters (nothing looks uglier than the Cobra helicopter.), this Bell 222 is on the opposite side of the spectrum.
The most perfectly proportioned helicopter imaginable.
