Think twice before you say yes to the Budget on Tuesday. Despite what many will have you believe Monroe will be just fine, our children's educations will be just fine. But will you be if you loose your job.
Also, do you honestly believe that increasing taxes more, will help you with selling your house is you have too, or will it hurt.
Don't let the town influence your vote with threats, think for yourself!!

What I will disagree with is your statement that people will not buy your home if the taxes are "too high". They won't turn away from $100 or more in taxes over the whole year. What they will turn away from is a town with no extracurriculars, closed parks, reduced hours at the library and senior center, a sub par school system.
There are certain people here in town that need a reality check, maybe they aren't living in the same times that the rest of us are. A time when people are losing jobs every day still. Other's aren't receiving raises. Maybe those that say that they support this tax increase job really think twice. Think is my husband's job without a doubt really safe, is mine?
On Average taxes are going up already $300-$400 per home due to the assesment. In addition to that what we are saying her is that uit would be okay to increase them an additional $150+ per home. That's ridiculous!!
That's not true at all. If you live in a higher value home, maybe your taxes are going up more; that just makes sense. But most people in this town live in a house worth less than $500K. I do, and I'm here to tell you that my taxes are going up less this year, with that reval, than any year I've lived here.
This video is ridiculous!!! What Monroe needs is a good finance person managing the funds and trimming the fat.
Taxes in Monroe are already going up due to the new assessments, meanwhile homes aren't worth what they were even assessed at anymore. Why do we need to increase taxes even more!!
