  • I really screwed up my phone but I am happy to say that my phone is back in business. i have a question, how do u root the phone? I have an application that I really want and need (educational purposes) and i sorta need to root.

  • @qone89 You can use an application to root, or you can simply flash a kernel that is already rooted.

  • @AndroidGalaxyS oh okay. may i know which application this is? i hope u can turn on and off this feature. btw, when u dialed *#272# shud mention that imei # was to follow ending with #.

  • wtf is odin. i have phoenix rom and i need more detailed instructions plz respond

  • @AtheismOwnsGod Odin is Samsung software used to flash factory firmwares.

  • the custom rom looks exactly like phoenix rom

  • Thank you so much. This video was very useful.

  • Hey, I am trying to flash back to stock after being on Darky's ROM. I accidentally unrooted before flashing, and I still have CWM installed and I can't seem to flash anything because recovery will not open to run the installing of Odin's files. Do you have any ideas? No one is helping me over at xda developers.

  • @cbram12 odin has nothing to do with CWM :)

You don't flash ODIN files via CWM - so it shouldn't matter!

  • I'm from Malaysia. So which one I should go for?

  • Thank you so much for this! :)

  • just wondering where you found the I9000XXJPU firmware with the full download? Also, where can i get this canadian version of that software :), thanks in advance

  • hi thanks for the video

do i have to do the first flash step because the stock rom on sam firmwares is a single file ?

  • @MasterMahmoud3 Yes most likely... it depends on your starting point.

  • @AndroidGalaxyS ok for my first step i download my one file firmware and i flash with repartion is that right

    and thank you

  • @MasterMahmoud3 When using repartition, you should use a firmware with 3 files like JPU, and the .pit file.

  • @AndroidGalaxyS i really thank you for your help and i'm sorry for all these questions but i finally could find an expert.

i have a galaxy s with the touch wiz UI i want to know to change the themes i heard i have to have Deodexed rom which i don't know what it is if you would do a video of how to install custom themes that would be great

    Thnaks Again for your help

  • @AndroidGalaxyS ok i did what you did in the video and i'm stuck with 3e recovery and i can't get cwm recovery what do i do

    please help

  • This phone looks fast. Much faster than my iPhone 3g :\

  • @dylanfleck :) It's a very fast phone with the right software.

  • @dylanfleck It is, in fact, faster than your iPhone 3g.

  • @androidgalaxys

I have upgraded my sgs to froyo. Can i install 2.1?

  • @abhinavjainabhinav Yes. Full flash JPU with Odin.

  • How do I know what i had as stock?

I have not flashed it with any rom just rooted it with super one click, is it the same baseband as it was when i got it?

  • @kawabanga95 Yes it is.

  • @androidgalaxys

    My baseband version I9000DDJP2.

For some reason foryo was not installed properly on sgs. So please tell me which file I have to install.

    Thanks!!

  • legend, did this and it worked like a charm - back on JPY - Just a note, you can format the INTERNAL SD card through the recovery :) Makes life easier

  • great guide!

By interest, at the end when you add the "bell" apps, I was wondering is there something similar for Vodafone UK?

  • @totallydubbed The carrier apps are part of the CSC file. If you download the right CSC file for UK, I think you will find the local carrier apps that they pre-install.

  • @AndroidGalaxyS thanks for the help, where would you download such things?

  • @totallydubbed You can search on xda or samfirmware to find stock firmware versions.

  • @AndroidGalaxyS kl thanks

  • @androidgalaxys yeah that's it:) not sure if this helps but the model number.is I-896 thanks for the help!!:)

  • @jordan2002100 You can get the Odin Flashable version on the xda thread link that I have just added to the video notes.

  • Do u know where to find the Roger captivate froyo fiemware

  • Hey, I see you are doing this videos and you obviously know a lot about this stuff but I just have to tell you this.... I have been watching many videos by you and always when you go into Settings -> About Phone ... you always say that the phone is based on and look at "Baseband Version" .... That is wrong man :)... Darky´s v9.2 is based on XWJS3 not XXJPY, what "Baseband Version" is telling you is that what Modem you have, has nothing to do with what the ROM is based on :)

  • @TVBNetworker Thank you for your comment. You are right and I appreciate you pointing it out - it is incorrect to refer to the radio version as what the ROM is based on, as they are pretty much unrelated.

  • I went to that site and I could not find the Samsung galaxy s I-896 rogers.captivate firmware can.u.help me

  • @jordan2002100 Are you able to tell me which version of the firmware you are looking for. i think the Rogers Captivate Froyo firmware is JL1. Is this what you are looking for?

  • Hi there!

Really appreciate all your videos!! Extremely useful!

Question: Do we have to choose the JPU firmware for the full flash before JL2? Or cane we just do a JL2 flash without re-partitioning and the PIT file? I have the Bell SGS GT-i9000M as well.

    Thanks!

  • @1337MonkLi Thank you for your comment. It would depend on your starting point.

  • @1337MonkLi Thank you for your comment. The JPU package contains several types of operating system files that JL2 does not. So to cleanly do a perfect install of JL2, you should flash one of the full packages first. Depending on your starting point, you may be able to bypass JPU flash... e.g. if your starting point was full wiped version of another similar full version ROM package.

  • @AndroidGalaxyS

    Thanks a lot! =)

  • i have speedmod kernel with lagfix, im pretty sure i have to disable it right? i dont want to go to stock now, i justc want to know :)

  • @Aiirikx Yes you would disable lagfix first.

  • hi, could you please post the links for the downloads. thank you.

can i use this method to upgrade from eclair to froyo? if yes should i root eclair first?

  • @nikiforos6 thank you for your comment. You can use Odin to flash factory froyo firmware as well. You do not need to root first.

  • @AndroidGalaxyS hi. one more question. i live in europe but the JL2 file is under USA should i download it anyway or could you tell me which file to use? or do i not need it at all? thank you very much!

  • @nikiforos6 You do not need to use the JL2 file as that was for North America. If you know the specific firmware version that is released in your country, you can use that. If not you could just flash JPU and leave it at that.

  • Dont you mean Eclair?? Or am I wrong?? (In your title it says froyo)

  • @XxCrazy4aimbotx These days these phones are shipping with Froyo, and have official Froyo updates released to phones that were originally sold with Eclair.

  • where to download the roms ?

  • Thanx man
