  • Thank you very much for the compliment. I hope you resume your training someday.

  • Does he just look stiff or just nervous?

  • Yes & yes. This particular student is still a novice so his technique would reflect this.

When my students start cutting, it is done in a very controlled manner so as to ensure an acceptable amount of safety.

  • Thought so. He loosens up a bit after. Your training seems very structured. That's a good trait. Keep up the good work Tom!!! Maybe one day we could train together. I'd be training in iai, but we could still train. :)

  • I would like that. If you are ever in the area, please let me know.

  • This a private party? i want in =P

  • Everyone is welcome.

  • Joozu desu ne!

    Thank you for sharing.

  • Domo arigato gozaimas.

  • Thanks for posting this! Very nice cutting, really nice form. Your student will be going to Ohio?

  • Thank you for the compliment. Yes, some of my students will be participating in both the Combative Sword Sparring & the Tameshigiri competitions at the Arnold Sports Festival (Columbus, OH).

  • Thank you

  • Mundane but correct. Practical cutting. Nice.

  • This is a clip from my battodo class so the shizan would be basic & controlled. Thank you for the compliment.

  • It appears the student has surpassed the master. haha. Just playin, cool video.

  • Obviously very skilled. Very nice demonstration.

  • Thank you very much.

  • Thank you

  • Very interesting. May I ask what particular art is your menjo/menkyo in?

  • I have license to teach from both the World Kum Do Association & the All Japan Goshindo Federation. Kum Do through the WKA is Korean Kendo. The sword art of Goshindo is comprised of 3 tiers...

    1. Kenjutsu - combatives using hatswari &/or padded weaponry

    2. Battodo (Toyama/Nakamura ryu)

    3. Tameshigiri

  • You are too kind but I certainly appreciate the compliment.

  • Nice, very nice. Your student I think, ot sure but had afew mess ups. I seen the Shinogiji maybe twice but he did a very good job. He has a damn good sensei.

  • Thank you for the kind words.
