@TheYTChronicles It depends on expectations. The card will not handle 1980x1080 with Crysis. The card will also not crank out full Anti Aliasing at acceptable frame-rate levels. With Crysis, it could just barely pump out HD if you cut shadows. It's not a bad card if you consider how much power draw it has and how cool it is. I'm not surprised that it can handle Crysis 2 at a much more acceptable level (though it's less hardware demanding). It's not for full blown gaming but great for some.
@Tokman3 i dunno i disagree. for its price, size, and sound it exceeded my expectations. I can currently run Crysis 2 at 1600x900 on a 26" LCD with high video settings and it runs very smooth. ive never heard a peep from this card and has never overheated. if any card was considered a ninja, it would be the 5570
Everyone that is wondering why his computer is lagging. It's probably his processor because this graphics card can run Crysis 2 maxed with at least 25-30 fps max.
@asdzxcvbqwerty nah. Your better off buying a mid-high, or a high-end card; like a 6850 and higher. You'd have as much horse power as four of these, at less power, less room, less money, and less headaches.
@96stewie96 While I'm actually running off a card that can run laps around this 5570, I still consider the 5570 perhaps one of the best cards I've ever owned. It doesn't do great for games, but it does okay. It can fit into almost any computer case and doesn't require extra case fans, its dead quiet, and has almost negligible power draw. Not a whole lot of cards out there like it. Well, maybe a GT440, but then its also more power hungry.
@pressure6666 Yeah, PSUs always add to the bill when it comes to upgrading. I wouldn't put anything bigger than a 5570 on a machine with 300W. A 5670 miiight work, but it can be risky, depending on your setup. Nothing else would work since you need external connectors coming from a higher end psu. Best thing to do if you want to go higher is bite the bullet and just buy a new psu. Probably won't need anything more than a 550W for just one discrete card. Should be <$100 for a good brand.
I was worried about getting this card with a pre build PC but if it can run crysis on high settings above 30fps then i feel much more confident getting the pc
To be honest, I have this card, and played Crysis on a 1600 x 900 Resolution, with everything set to "Very High" exept the Shaows which were set to "Low".
It ran at around 25-40 FPS depending on the area you're in.
@MauREAPER1313 On the one hand, you can get better framerates with a better graphics card than this. On the other hand, recording programs always chop framerates to some degree, whereas this game is relatively smooth without it. This game is much smoother without the recorder, yet the recording would have been smoother if the card was stronger.
@RocketBird120 I have the chance to test out this game on my pc with the same graphic card, 2 gb ram and a core 2 duo 2.2 Ghz and it run very well not maxed but very well.
@MauREAPER1313 lol it's the graphics card that's bad. That's not me being a dick, I have one sitting in my computer right not lol replacing it with a high-mid end soon though :P
@marfg12345 Radeon 5670 and 5750 were mid range of last year... which is like, a month ago. Or maybe more since the newer cards came out at the end of the year. I wouldn't exactly call a 5670 "low end," but possibly the lower end of mid range. It gets you buy most games I think. The only brick wall this year, I think, would be Crysis 2, but then no "official" system requirements are out for that game yet, and theoretically, the system requirements are supposed to be lower.
im playing my pc games on my 32" tv (1360x768) my friend says i should go back to my old monitor which is 1024x768 would games run better if i used a monitor with a lower resolution?
- 16GB maximum RAM capacity - Graphics card ATI Radeon HD 4650
- 1GB dedicated memory ATI Radeon™ HD 5570 Graphics
- 1GB GDDR3 dedicated memory would this run crysis ? if so what settings and resulotion would you reccomend ? ( i do not know anything when it comes to gaming standards
@xxXViiRUSXxx1 When it comes down to it, the only thing limiting your performance is your video card. Just from a glance of your specs, you will likely be able to run crysis with similar settings and resolution to mine, perhaps even better. If you have both a radeon 4650 and a 5570, and can get them both running at the same time (don't know much about crossfire I'm afraid), I reckon you can max out the game at 720p resolution and above.
@alonalon777 5670 if you can afford it and if your power supply can handle it, but then you'd probably be better off getting something a little higher end if you don't mind dishing a little extra cash for a gaming card. The 5570 is more of the budget option, and despite what skepticism there are in regards to overclocking, its possible for a 5570 to achieve on-par and greater performance to a stock 5670, since they both use the same processor, only different RAM.
I have dragon age origins, on an HP desktop with an AMD 64x2 4400+ proc, at 2.3 ghz, 4 gigs of ddr2. I can run it now, but its on ultra low settings at like 10 fps, choppy, and laggy, with a crappy integrated nvidia 6150se. Will this card run that game on medium settings smoothly? Thanks. I have been comparing this with the 5670, but I can't afford a new PSU, and mine is 250w
@nfarnham2008 Don't try running a 5670 on a 250w, there is a very high chance that you will encounter power problems and damage to your computer. With the 5570, you will be able to run Dragon Age with all its graphics maxed out with your given PC. It "should" work with the 250w, but exercise caution. I'd hesitate running the 5570 on less than 300w, though some people reported that it works fine with the said psu. Make sure your psu is a quality brand one as well if you want to try.
@callofdutyguy9 It can pull a 30 on max with lower resolutions. It can for sure pull a 30 on high. It cannot pull 300... and I don't think any card to date can with this game.
so how would you compare an HD 4670 to this card. Everyone says that the 4670 is a better performance card. All comparison reviews say that 5570 is better performance(slightly) with more features.
btw, can you run this game over 20fps without fraps(of course) at 1280x1024 with maxed settings? and also can you play 1920x1080 with decent settings(very high on shader but mostly everythin on high or medium)?
im looking to buy a budget card(when i get a job i wanna build a budget pc)
@Twixgtx The card is on par with the HD4670. It is generally a hair faster than the 4670, though some benchmarks have the 4670 being the other way around depending on the application. The 5570 consumes 15-20 watts less. Just think of it as a mini 4670.
For crysis, you can't run the game over 20 fps at 1280x1024 with everything maxed out. If you turn down shadows, and AA, yes. You can probably pull 1920x1080 with modest settings... medium is fine. Somewhere in between, as you suggested.
@RocketBird120 thank you for the info, but after lookin around a bit, i found the Nvidia Geforce GT 240. More powerful than the 5570, less power consumption and its cheaper. But I still need to look around to see if i can get somethin better. the gt 240 that i see that i want to get is only $35 on compusa, perhaps cheaper elsewhere(about twice as much at newegg though) but it's lookin like a pretty promising card. I don't really know if it is stronger than th3 5570 but so far everyone says it is
@Twixgtx Negative. The GT240 uses 30 more watts than the 5570. Only the GDDR5 version of the 240 is faster--the GDDR3 version is about the same as the 5570. If you don't mind the extra wattage, go with a Radeon 5670 instead, as opposed to the 240. Otherwise, I'd stick to the 5570.
@RocketBird120 i can't go any higher than $60-$70 so i think i'll get the gt 240 since it costs less(gddr3 version) and yields the same performance as 5570. I'm also not gonna need the direct x 11. So far the cheapest good cards are 5570 and gt 240, and gt 240 is slightly cheaper, maybe i can get what i'm lookin for with it. btw, srry if i got wrong info, but i was under the impression the gt 240 used less power cuase it requires a 300w psu(on Nvidia website) and the hd 5570 requires 400w psu.
@Twixgtx Yes. ATI tends to overstate their power supply requirements; usually by saying a certain wattage is recommended. Nvidia's requirements seems closer to the actual requirements, though sometime too close to the minimum for comfort. There are other power consumption charts out there that I find more useful; but you have to know what is in your machine, approximately how much power is being drawn, and how much headroom you have to make better use of it.
@RocketBird120 oh my machine can take both of them no problem, it can take most gfx cards(i have a 450w psu and the computer came with a 300w and the gfx has been the only thing changed besides the psu) but i just have a strict budget mainly because i don't have any money right now, but maybe if i don't get a card til after i get a job, i might choose a better card. so thank you for all the advice, i hate it when i ask things and people don't reply and have no intention of helping anyone.
@struggle375 SC2 has some very modest system requirements that even lowest end recent generation card can run (short of maybe integrated chips). I doubt the 5570 would have trouble with ultra high graphics with that game; but then I don't have SC2, so I don't know for certain.
You FAN boys need to go else where this video is to show the quality of the radeon 5570 on crysis. I'm pretty sure it doesn't say "Intel vs. AMD" so stfu and go else where with your spam!
@PhaiLYoOr4LyF3 Yes and no. Having more gigs, or memory, by itself does not make a video card faster than it is designed. However, some games and application requires a heavy memory load (from running high resolutions, high definition textures, and so on), and if they consume more memory than exists on your card, you run into all sorts of performance problems, such as stutters (cache thrashing), huge framerate losses, etc. Having more memory keeps things stable.
@Mu8384 Sometimes yes. There are a bit of variances between the different brands. For instance, the HD 5570, every brand except Sapphire and HIS underclocks their cards. Gigabyte overclocks the core clock while underclocking the memory clock. The HD 5670, on the other hand, seems to be uniform across the brands. Research carefully before you purchase your video card.
I was thinking of upgrading my grandma's computer but I was wondering what motherboard I should upgrade to because this one is so old it doesnt even support DDR2 ram...
@gamersforeverr You should be able to pull graphic settings with resolutions a little bit higher than this video with those specs. Keeping in mind that Crysis is running Maxed settings with a somewhat lower resolution in this video. 720 p should be fine, though maxed settings with 1080 p may be stretching it a little if you want "smooth like butter." Most other games you should be fine.
@gamersforeverr Don't get the Intel Quad, get an AMD x6. It's pretty cheap, and you get 6 cores. Also, get an ATi card, i would reccomend a 5750 at least. 8 gb ram is overkill.
@gamersforeverr At this time, probably most games; either well or modestly. I haven't seen too many games that have requirements outrageously greater than the game shown in this video. It depends on your gaming needs. If you are a hardcore FPS type gamer wanting to play everything in widescreen HD, you might want to throw in a video card that is higher end and maybe add a couple more gigs of RAM. If your not, you should be fine in most cases.
@Usul573 the 9800 gt was released in fall 2008. the 8800 gt was released in 2007. but the cards are actually the same: the 9800 gt is re-branded 8800 gt

Nvidia's requirements seems closer to the actual requirements, though sometime too close to the minimum for comfort. There are other power consumption charts out there that I find more useful; but you have to know what is in your machine, approximately how much power is being drawn, and how much headroom you have to make better use of it.
RocketBird120 1 year ago
@RocketBird120 oh my machine can take both of them no problem, it can take most gfx cards(i have a 450w psu and the computer came with a 300w and the gfx has been the only thing changed besides the psu) but i just have a strict budget mainly because i don't have any money right now, but maybe if i don't get a card til after i get a job, i might choose a better card. so thank you for all the advice, i hate it when i ask things and people don't reply and have no intention of helping anyone.

MasterJaws 1 year ago
@MasterJaws the FPS should be probably close to what I get.
RocketBird120 1 year ago
@RocketBird120 Yeah, it did work on 1024x768 resolution :)!
MasterJaws 1 year ago
how come the 5570 can run StarCraft 2 at ultra graphics on 1360x768 resolution?
struggle375 1 year ago
@struggle375 SC2 has some very modest system requirements that even lowest end recent generation card can run (short of maybe integrated chips). I doubt the 5570 would have trouble with ultra high graphics with that game; but then I don't have SC2, so I don't know for certain.
RocketBird120 1 year ago
@RocketBird120 im only able to play at medium graphics when i turn em up to high i start laggin and i get 4 fps
struggle375 1 year ago
@struggle375 Okey. I has been installed Radeon 5570(ddr3 1gb) in HP dc7700p. Performance is very good.

You FAN boys need to go else where this video is to show the quality of the radeon 5570 on crysis. I'm pretty sure it doesn't say "Intel vs. AMD" so stfu and go else where with your spam!

do you have GDDR3 or GDDR5 memory on you video card?

how much fps? , and its in low , medium or high???? (sorry for the english) :3
rainbowsix1998 1 year ago
does it matter how many gigs the videocard has
PhaiLYoOr4LyF3 1 year ago
@PhaiLYoOr4LyF3 Yes and no. Having more gigs, or memory, by itself does not make a video card faster than it is designed. However, some games and application requires a heavy memory load (from running high resolutions, high definition textures, and so on), and if they consume more memory than exists on your card, you run into all sorts of performance problems, such as stutters (cache thrashing), huge framerate losses, etc. Having more memory keeps things stable.
RocketBird120 1 year ago
Is it dx11?
jackpwnage117 1 year ago
@jackpwnage117 The card is dx11, though in Crysis, it can only be played in DX10.

does the brand of the video card matters? theres a few brand out there, sapphire, powercolor etc...
Mu8384 1 year ago
@Mu8384 Sometimes yes. There are a bit of variances between the different brands. For instance, the HD 5570, every brand except Sapphire and HIS underclocks their cards. Gigabyte overclocks the core clock while underclocking the memory clock. The HD 5670, on the other hand, seems to be uniform across the brands. Research carefully before you purchase your video card.

im going to get a new computer:
Intel 2 Quad ( 2.4 Ghz )
8 GB RAM
GeForce 9800 GT 1 GB
can i play the newest games and crysis on high smooth like butter
gamersforeverr 1 year ago
@gamersforeverr You should be able to pull graphic settings with resolutions a little bit higher than this video with those specs. Keeping in mind that Crysis is running Maxed settings with a somewhat lower resolution in this video. 720 p should be fine, though maxed settings with 1080 p may be stretching it a little if you want "smooth like butter." Most other games you should be fine.
RocketBird120 1 year ago
well you're running dx10. i bet if you try with dx11, it will preform way better cause this card is meant for dx11.

Im gonna get a new computer and can i play the newest games on high with:
Intel 2 quad ( 2.4 gHz )
8 GB RAM
9800 GT 1gb
gamersforeverr 1 year ago
@gamersforeverr Don't get the Intel Quad, get an AMD x6. It's pretty cheap, and you get 6 cores. Also, get an ATi card, i would reccomend a 5750 at least. 8 gb ram is overkill.

@FRURMELLL amd is shit for gaming 8gb ram is even better

if i have this card then i must have a high resolution monitor too right?

@ngveantat Nope. It'll work on an 17" as it would work on a 22". Having a bigger one is always nice though :)

can i play the newest games with no problem

@gamersforeverr yeah kind of
PcMrGaming 1 year ago
@gamersforeverr At this time, probably most games; either well or modestly. I haven't seen too many games that have requirements outrageously greater than the game shown in this video. It depends on your gaming needs. If you are a hardcore FPS type gamer wanting to play everything in widescreen HD, you might want to throw in a video card that is higher end and maybe add a couple more gigs of RAM. If your not, you should be fine in most cases.

@gamersforeverr Your ram is too low but grphic card CPU ... are rly good

Dunno about Crysis on the 9800 GT.
9800 GT is still good for most games though.
A lot of games have recommended it, like Bioshock 2 and Mass Effect 2, it's getting a little old though. Back from October of 2007. Probably good.
Usul573 1 year ago
@Usul573 the 9800 gt was released in fall 2008. the 8800 gt was released in 2007. but the cards are actually the same: the 9800 gt is re-branded 8800 gt

Yeah I know, same card, only different is moving to 55nm for a lot of the 9800GTs.
