  • Makes me ONLY want to do lakes and portages to more lakes - even WITH my ROYALEX Bell Northwind canoe. My intent is to go far into wilderness when I do these things so I can't have this happening!

  • You got that right! It would have been a quick ending to the trip had the boat not been royalex. The bottom of the boat came up snapping the carrying yolk. The spray deck also had a huge tear in it and the rear seat was broken. We were able to stitch the spray deck with some fishing line and a sail sewer on a swiss army knife. The carrying yolk was still attached at the sides and we splinted it with saplings and 8mm climbing rope. Duct tape snare wire & a 3" stick fixed the seat. It all worked

  • I've done that before and it royally sucks. Good thing it was a royalex boat.
