Fortunately, in my hometown here in the UK. They still have the old Metal Detector that you walk through. Just like they used to have in Airports. And if you do have metal objects, they frisk you before going into the court building.

I have no objections to that method, as it's happened to me in Airports a few times. Though I DO protest against them touching genitalia when being searched. That's just as degrading as the Body Scanner which I refuse to use.
