this is pretty cool. Some of the commands are UNIX commands... I'm guessing apple uses a Unix based terminal. Im not sure. dont really know too much about apple.

@SpaceCowboyMcCoy no, it just activate the admin account and from that root account you can change every user's password in that computer. if you want to disable it, you can go to the utilities folder and click on "directory utilities" then click on the chain type in your password, on the tool bar click edit there will be a function called "disable root users" simply click on it then no one can use the command to hack your root account anymore. by the way, the system is leopard 10.5.x
