Update, well the car is in dry storage since I got it, I have an new granddaughter and have not spent any time on it. Now for the latest news, my 24 year old son had been looking at it and I told him he could have it if he restored it. so knowing his finances at this age, it will take some time, but it will carry on the MG's to the next generation.
Looking forward to seeing how you get on I have the identical car but now in the UK where there were no split bumpers. Its now Right hand drive and auto in Brooklands green. but all other US spec bits retained
This looks like a fun MG restoration project and a keeper. It appears to be in very good original condition with minimal rust and only minor body damage. Nice MGBs are getting harder to find. Good luck to you. I would get rid of the original oil filter assembly with newer a later version or a Moss updated retro kit becasue of the oil dry start issues encountered with the 1968 to 1970 years.
I have three MGB and two of them are 1970's. Maybe I'm wrong but I thought prior to 1971 I thought all the engines are black.

I have one just like it, minus the wire rims and luggage rack. I'd love to see what you've done to it.
