Bill, Thanks for the tip on the free Floorfish plugin for Sony Vegas. I was shooting a hockey game and a a compressor fan was running in the background messing up my audio. I installed Floorfish, added it to the plugin chain, tweaked it a bit and my audio is 100% better. Awesome! Thanks again!
Guerilla Bill to the rescue once again! This, plus the Audacity tip did exactly what I needed. Thanks for sharing your expertise! I will check out the DVD on Amazon ...
Will this work for getting background noise out? For example, i'm working on a vlogging series...my webcam has great audio but hinky video, so i'm using my little digital camera which has great video and good audio, but you hear a loud shshshshshsh (static, I guess) throughout. Would this program get rid of that without affecting my voice as i'm talking? I haven't been able to test on my own because i'm waiting for my camera to come back to me (left it at a friend's in another state)
@FlyingOverTr0ut No, you don't have to isolate the sound, but you do have to adjust the 'detect frequency' to determine what frequence to use the noise gate on.
@guerillabill Thanks. It does work great. However, is there any way to lower the amount of the frequency being filtered out by the noise gate? I shot a comedy show last night and want to eliminate some of the hum from the air conditioning, and the Floorfish does this very well, but then it distorts and makes the performers voices too high or too bass.

@matrix86 To remove background noise, I'd try the method I use in 'remove noise using audacity'.

Vegas 10 64 bit doesn't have a Vstplugins folder therefore I don't think these plugins are compatible.

In audacity you have to isolate only the sound you want reduced. I take it you don't have to do that in this?

@FlyingOverTr0ut If you want to remove air conditioning hum, try the method I show in 'remove unwanted noise from audio / video Audacity Sony Vegas'

I followed these instructions for Vegas Pro 10 64bit and I'm able to select the effect yet the plugin won't run. Do these work in 64bit Pro?
RDJim 11 months ago
@RDJim I just tested these in Vegas Pro 9 64 bit, and it works exactly as shown above. Haven't tested in Vegas Pro 10.
guerillabill 11 months ago
@RDJim there's no Vstplugins folder in Vegas Pro 10 64bit so I don't the plugins are complatible with it.

How you do that effect at 2:25?
lietuvis112112 11 months ago
@lietuvis112112 That effect is created using the blur callout in Camtasia Studio - the software I use to record and edit these training videos.
