I would love to get a Jazzmaster. I know about 10 years ago the American-made Reissues were $1000., then 5 years ago, they were $1200., then have just sky rocketed in the last 2 years. Rediculous!!!
Well, either guitar would be a great choice. I would definitely say that the Lonestar would be more versatile. You will be able to get more sounds out of it, but Jazzmasters are awesome!!!!
That's cool, I play mainly post punk/dream pop, rock and solo stuff like Joe Satriani. I played the classic player Jazzer in my local music shop and really loved it, kind of like a strat in terms of the neck playability, but with a fatter sound, cuz they've put better pick ups in the new ones

I came up with a melody similar to this a few years back, can't remember how it went now, but ur beautiful playing brings it all right back!

Yes, this is the American-Made version. It is a 1996. I bought it brand new back in the first year they came out with the Lonestar Strats.

I've been looking at forking out on a new guitar - a fender specifically. I love this lonestar, but I'm so tempted by a classic player Jazzmaster.
