Heres the deal. Ford thinks there great because they use dual overhead cam engines and get so much hp out of them which they do, but thats new technology. GM is still getting great hp out of pushrod v8's. If GM ever takes all there v8's and makes them dual overhead cams, ford better watch out because a 6.2L dual over head cam would shit on the new gt500 and the zr1 would be even more of a boss.

Thats the slowest 2 cars I have seen in awhile. I have raced 5.0s, Challengers etc. Stock times in V8s are in mid to high 12s. If you don't believe me check my vids. I have HD vid at drag against a challenger.

ok, I have a theory. We saw these drivers on the brakes well before the finish. Maybe they were friends running and they weren't wearing helmets, and they agreed to keep under 13.99, so they cut the power early. (most dragstrips require helmets sub- 13.99.) I own a 2010 ss, and I can run mid to low 13's easy stock, for the ss camaro to turn 15, and the mustang gt to turn 14, they had to cut the power pretty early.
I don't understand the Camaro vs. Mustang hate. I test drove both and made my buying decision simply because I couldn't fit or see well out of the Camaro. Otherwise both awesome cars.

@sschevnit not really the drivers looks like the camaro is auto just smash and go almost dummy proof. Its the high elevation you lose about a sec on a 1/4 mile as apossed to a track located at sea level like the ones used in the car and driver,inside line etc...

@sschevnit i had a Z28 02 with kook's long tubes and billy boat exhaust. some idiot lady ran a red light and took it out :(. i pulled my headers and exhaust off though when my car was at the scrap yard; still got em in my garage. driving was definately not for her. i'm waiting for the '12 ZL1 to come out. we'll see how my finances shake out, and i'll get it if i can

dumbest video ever. That either isn't a Camaro SS or it is the worst driver in history. 1/4 mile in 15+ seconds? are you kidding me? A 2010 Camaro SS will beat ANY Mustang GT 4.6L that is stock. WAY TOO MANY VIDS TO SAY OTHERWISE!!! The 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 is a different story. It's a lot lighter than the Camaro and almost the same power... but the tests so far has them pretty close still.
Remember, no replacement for displacement! The huge 6.2L motor is going to respond to mods better!!

There are 1000 more bolt-ons and aftermarket parts available for the mustang than the camaro.that's because Fords are easier and more affordable to mod,oh and way more popular.
