i don't think the conspiracy was to encourage new television purchase, dan. i think it was a conspiracy to get everyone off of the analog television bandwidth, so that those frequencies could be "rented out" to high paying bidders in the future. ever notice that there was no channel 1 on tv's? that's because it was such a large width that it was able to be broken up into other "groups" of rentable signals. local tv started at channel 2,3, or 4 if you remember.
@loytube1 yes, you dont know what your talking about.. Channel 1 was finally withdrawn on June 14, 1948, and allocated to fixed and mobile services such as HAM radio or amateur radio. yes, i can remember, i also utilize the vhf 44 - 55mhz range
cable is such a rip off.. I have a hd tv, a small hd tv on top of my tv,and i get about 15 free channels, all in HD.. Who needs 120 channels of garbage. Netflix streaming.. youtube.. hulu.. cable is obsolete.
@p20 well. i do get better resolution than hulu and i get to see the episodes when they first come out.. but i do have to record them first, so i can skip all of the commericals.. either way, i'm afraid your right on this one.. :)
Mine does this all the time. Pissed me off last night. Was really getting into a great western, was just getting good, GunFight in Dodge City. Right as it was getting good, bullshit, went all haywire. Tried other channels, finally just had to give up and go to bed. Digital is starting to piss me off even more. ComCast sucks
@daywalker627 yea, digital cable was a scam to help put the video rental companies out of business, and to get us to buy new tv's that only last 3 years at best.. heck, i still got a 22 year old black and white tv in my bedroom, its worthless now, but it still works.. you'll never see any of these newer lcd or plasma tv's last that long.
