@MultiLolgrl the disease the baby has, called harlequin ichthyosis, causes the baby to grow a thick outer layer of skin. the baby's skin becomes so thick and tight that the sensitive skin on the eyelids is pulled so tightly that the eyelids swell up and turn red and are literally swollen shut. it goes away after a month or so.

The body can't eliminate the dead skin and it continues accumulating it making the body more and more rigid and dry cause they couldn't retain water. It's very painful, the people who have this describe it as "like be imprisoned in their own bodies".

@MultiLolgrl the disease the baby has, called harlequin ichthyosis, causes the baby to grow a thick outer layer of skin. the baby's skin becomes so thick and tight that the sensitive skin on the eyelids is pulled so tightly that the eyelids swell up and turn red and are literally swollen shut. it goes away after a month or so.
