With every iteration of street fighter, my favorite character seemed to get dumped down.Sad really,because he started out as one of,or if not the most powerful character in street fighter.Replace now by a sub-par flash kick and a almost useless uppercut,Guile has become a joke,at-least to me.Case and point,Guile two main moves are his sonic boom and flash kick, why then is Guile so slow and bulky? think about it.Gone are the days of jump in kick to flash kick.

@Lionsblood As a Guile player, or hell ANYONE I dare you to be standing still and let E Honda sumo splash you. Either move forward, and deal with E Hondas pokes (which beat out Guiles nine times out of ten) or move backward and toss a SB to create spacing or buy time to suprise with an attack that would put you within range. I have played EVERY character and know that playing Guile is a bitch. Little movement options, low priority on your anti air. All you have is your SB and Aviator glasses. :(

As a Guile player, I must say Guile was definitely given the short end of the stick. If somebody is good with him, they can go far. But against Ryu, Ken or Sagat (or other new, good characters), you will lose pitifully.

spamming butt slam is very difficult for guile to get around. You cant jump at him so buttslam is the best bet to get in away from those sonic booms.

Screw tiers. It's all about whether you know how to use your character or not. If you use your character the wrong way then of course he or she will lose effectiveness. Not all players are meant to do nasty combos. I'm getting so sick of people determining every character's worth based on tiers. Learn your character's style regardless of how everyone else plays.

Well from the looks of it he didnt have much a choice. E. Honda's butt slams are too fast for him to prep the 2sec charge... basically he was under pressure and decided to try distance. Didn't work but imo he still did really good. I wanna know who this Guile player is. He's one of the better ones i've seen.

Tier ranking isn't as significant in SF4. The game is very well balanced. Guile is not bad at all, just takes a skilled player to use him well.

Sure, the game is well balanced, but the simple fact of the matter is that Vega and Guile have to work very hard for their wins.

It's like playing with a handicap of 90% life - yeah you can win but you're at a disadvantage and that's a fact.

The reason that Guile is so low tier is simple. Everyone got buffed while Guile stayed the same.

Hell Sakura is a beast in this game with high priority attacks and easily chained supers. Guile still requires that 2sec charge time for his specials and that really hinders his rushdown game.
