@Ramathorn2007 Look unless you're playing games at 2560X1680 at MAX. This card will happily greet you with performance. IMO, I'd spend a some more to at least get a GTX260 black edition *assuming you have the money and perfer Nvidia* if not Nvidia, then the Radeon 5830 or 5770 are great cards

My favorite GTS 250 is one of the BFG ones, it's faster than most, and it's got a full gigabyte of RAM and is $130. With that the system is perfect for almost anything, at 1280x720 probably will run Crysis just about maxed. Lots of games recommend the GTS 250 like BC2 and Just Cause 2. Lots of other games recommend a weaker card. Batman, RE5, Mass Effect 2, Bioshock series.

Memory doesn't make a difference unless you are gonna game at high resolution. You wouldn't need more than 512mb if you were at 1280x1024. And the GTS250 performs just a bit better than the 4850.

No! I bought this card for my old dell with a pentium 4 3.2ghz and it was bottle necked like a bitch! I scored like 3k on 3dmark06. I built a new core i7 rig with the same graphics card and I got 15k 3dmarks! I suggest you get atleast a dual core and you should easily score around 10k probably higher.

The gts 250 is based on the same architecture as the 9800gtx everyone knows that, but that dont mean there the same card. The gts 250 has a different chip so it runs cooler,overclocks more, uses less power(only has one 6 pin power connector instead of 2) its a shorter card and plus its cheaper. U act like were all using 8800gt's just renamed and that is totally not true.

I don't know why but it is. A 24" monitor a friend has has both DVI and HDMI inputs. I tried out both and the DVI quality was more crisp and nicer to game on. I can't explain why.

sucks for him because on my 1080p samsung I can tweak the settings and make my images look crisp. I can also get deeper blacks by selecting hdmi black levels. They're both the same it's just about tweaking your monitor.

I spent about 2 hours tweaking both to get the best picture. I didn't have to do much tweaking on the DVI line because everything was clear and the contrast ratios were perfect out of the box. After about 1 and a half on the HDMI line it looked alright but the text was still slightly fuzzy and the contrast was much lower than with dvi. I tried to bump it up but it just wouldn't go up to what I would say was usable. I just didn't like it and I found a similar problem with a 32" HD TV.
