Most of the people know English in the shops. I had so much fun listening to people talk on Ben Yehuda street. It was a blast. Thank you for this good beginning!

  • Tov, toda raba

  • Thanks for these lessons! I'm planning to go to Israel this May and I'm excited to learn Hebrew. I have one question though: I noticed that your 'R' sounds very very soft, almost a L is that normal for Hebrew pronunication? I was just wondering because I find it interesting that it was a common pronunication issue i faced when teaching esl students in Korea.

  • @Elurin sorry i should have specified "final" 'R' sound

  • @Elurin I guess it's easier noticing those nuances when your'e not a native speaker, I guess you can think about like in some words in English the letters are almost silence if that makes sense(:

  • @orisin1 Thanks for your answer, and what you say does make sense . . just did some research online and it sounds like there is more going on with the pronunciation of /r/ than what I am hearing. What is obvious to me, at this point, is that I'm going to need a LOT of practice before I start sounding like someone who can speak Hebrew. If it wasn't for the positional changes of pronunciation, i would say that it might be better to make all your /r/ into Ls, lol

  • @Elurin well practice makes perfect, I am going to come out with a learn conversation Hebrew online course in the next 2 months, so stay tuned, I think it will be very helpful to you

  • for what's your name, can't you just say, shem shelach/shelcha?

  • @MrBlahblah558

    Yes, you sure can(:

  • Think I'd find it easier poking needles in my eyes vs learning this. Shoot I always said I could do or learn anything if I put my mind to it, but darn this is hard. I'll still try though.

  • In holland we have the ga sound

  • I've been memorizing the basics but forget it again... it really needs someone to speak with... me and my friends are all beginners and all trying to learn hebrew!!! toda raba again!!

  • i want to learn to write it too

  • @twighahn I will try to post the words as they are written in Hebrew, join our facebook group: learn conversatinal hebrew!

  • Hi, my name is Renato, I am brazilian and I am learning some hebrew via internet. I would appreciate if we could have more phrases like those.

    Shalom
