How to mod a Sunpak .5x wide angle lens into a fisheye Part 1

i had that wide angle lens, but i didnt know you could do that. so i went and ordered an opteka super fisheye. i gave the wide angle lens away, then the guy i gave it to showed me how he turned it into a fisheye. i felt hella stupid. xD

Buy an eye glasses repair kit for 3 bucks at CVS and use the tiny flathead screw driver to take the lens off, it fits perfectly.

for everyone who cant get the ring off, try for a while, take a couple hour break, then try again. thats what i did and it came right off. i also put w-d 40 to loosen it up but idk if it helped at all. just keep trying and eventually it will come off.

i dont think it will work like a fish eye, it bends evry thing more than it makes the wide ass angle you get with the fish eye

there wasnt much of a difference with area space. it was more round but still just got the same amount of space,if not less.

Zetineb001 is right you dont even have to flip the lens just take out the inner lens, and it looks way better. and if you take out the inner lens and flip the outer one you get an even wider fisheye effect. thanks guys TIME TO FILM SOME LINES!!!!

spanner tool is normally used or the tips of scissors be carefull though

mechanics c clip remover might also work

or clamp the unit [protect with a rag] and tap on the notch preferable something softer like hard plastic or copper the key is patience

heating the lens will let the metal expand and might help [not too hot don't cook it]

i got mine last Christmas so from what i remember the camera came with a CD and u download the software from there, then you use a USB cord. And it come up on your computer as Sony Handycam or something like that. I LOVE the hard drive. its so much more easier and more organized than miniDV. If u need help when u get it just let me know

because when an hdd camera captures motion, there's these like tiny moving lines on the edge of the object thats in motion because of the compression, in a dv, the quality is pure from the tape and you get a much better quality, someone in youtube made a video comparison between the two, look them up

i have a panasonic pv90p. so would this lens fit my cam. on the camera it says 42x optical zoom, and 75.6mm lens fully zoomed obviously. it has threads under the rectangle thingover the lens but i cant get that off i dont think, so im asking is if i bought this would it fit do anyof you know. how much are snap on thread adapters if it cant?
