@ragnail no seperate license is needed here.When taking a driving course, we had a choice of automatic or stick shift cars to "learn in". Back in the olden days (1977) when I was in high school, driving courses were FREE and alternated between both classroom and behind the wheel lessons -1 hour/day, 5 days a week for 9 weeks. Drivers ed is not free anymore and is not part of any high school curriculm- it used to count as so many credits to graduate! cool-ey?
@cocatwoman7 Yep thats realy cool. We have to do it of our own back here and if you pass your test in an automatic then youre only alowed to drive an automatic.
@ragnail makes perfect sense to me. I've been told by many Brits that automatics are RARE. Here in the US, ya don't see to many manual transmissions in hilly places that get frequent snow and ice. "sports cars" are mainly driven on sunny dry days with NO chance of hail or ice.

am drooling over the cars but I never learned to drive a stick shift (manual transmission)........hey Phil! ;)
