  • One of the best fucking concerts I've ever seen!! These guys and Them Crooked Vultures - 2 best supergroups in the last 20 years.

  • I have watched this video so many times this week. I've been on a major Oysterhead kick, and since they only made one album, it is pretty easy to listen to the same stuff over and over. Love it.

  • HOLY FUCK MY MIND IS BLOWN

  • this is a bit flat. the accoustics aren't all that

  • Haha, fuck jane's addiction. Best goddamn pairing in the history of side projects.

  • So Sick! 10 YEARS ago today. =)

  • this is awesome but trey could have better tone, the guitar's sick, but it doesn't sound like he's using his tube screamers here and he definitely should be! awesome though

  • now 2 people were in the wrong place.

  • Amazing..Trey's guitar=Bomb !

  • gotta love the matterhorn

  • Chills!

  • bail on the Languedoc Trey

  • is it possible for les to make anything uncool???

  • @GordosMama1111

NO!! Les Claypool is a God among mere mortal men!!

  • 0:21 the guy with the cool hair has a metalokalypse shirt

  • 0:21 the guy with the cool hair has a metalokalyose shirt

  • well that was about the sickest thing i've ever seen in my life.

  • Haha, the wook at 0:22 was definitely taking bumps before they cut to him.

  • Your too scared!! Seriously live life. Suicide??? Do it!!!! Stop bitching!! Do it!!

  • Don't be stupid. Not best anything of any time. Fun, but don't get crazy.

  • Fuck it, Claypool is god.

  • lol, yeah he was looking for Janes Addiction!!!! :(

    That guitar has antlers!!!!!!!

  • I am in the right place!!!

  • 1 person was in the wrong place.

  • thats a mythic guitar !

  • I had the opportune to play flanked by old STU & TREY!!!

  • I had the oppertune to play flanked by old STU & TREY!!!

  • this is the bees knees

  • Wow 1 person is an idiot

  • LES CLAYPOOL!!!!

  • The trifecta - the perfect three, Stu, Les, and Trey. Les - a known music god. Trey - a well trained musical genius. Stuart Copeland - Why didn't Sting set you free? In Quake terms... Godlike!!! I wonder what this would look like with Rick Wakeman on keyboards....

  • Once upon a crazy day! I had an opportune to play! CLAYPOOL, STU, AND TREY! CUZ THERE AINT NO CURE FOR SUICIDE!!!!!!!

  • great,great,GREAT song!

couldnt find it anywhere had no cluse what it was called!

looks like i know now :)

when it comes to supergroups, im personally fond of Velvet Revolver

(GnR members: Slash, Matt Sorum, Duff McKagan)

(and vocalist: Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots = best band of all time!)

  • I love how the music starts hitting you, and suddenly there's this huge breakdown and Stewart Copeland makes the beat his bitch. I absolutely love this.

  • copeland the mighty god

  • antler guitar ftw!

  • man oysterhead needs to make a new album. I love the grand pecking order. I can honestly say that there is not one bad song on there. they are all gems

  • les doesnt make bad music. ever. anyone who says differently doesnt know what music is

  • Pretty much anything Les Claypool does is pure gold, add in Stewart Copeland and Trey and it's no wonder this is one of my favorite groups......

  • I need to see this band live! Who's ready for Oysterhead to play another festival?!

  • @josh10111000001010 doubtful. Primus just got back together and is currently working on a new album. Claypools got his hands full

  • @malloway928 A new album :O !!? thanks for letting me know

  • @DOGLOG420 ok thanks

  • who is in this band other than claypool?

  • I wonder if Trey has a hunting license for that guitar? Is that a four pointer?

  • Les Claypool is like a fuckin preacher of amazing-ness

  • les claypool should really not sing >.< he's awesome on bass and should stick with it his voice and lyrics really sucks

just like hendrix and john frusciante ;) some guys shouldn't sing =p

  • @duduledhyrule holy crap, really?! i love the voices of all three of those guys

  • @duduledhyrule

fursciante sucks at guitar too. and les claypool heads for that voice because he likes to be wierd. know your shit dude.

have you ever seen frusciante try and jam? its fucking pathetic. he is okay when it come to playing shit like it is, but its a joke when he tries to improvise

  • @wahoowill89 you should know most RHCP songs are just jams between the members in studio which they found good so if he can't improvise who can? x)

  • @wahoowill89

nah man, Frusciante is sick. I guarantee you that your favorite musicians would vouch for him

  • @duduledhyrule the quirkiness of claypool's voice is what makes it amazing. i mean, he's not exactly singing love ballads. would you want to hear barbara streisand singing about dead puppies? also, i think hendrix's voice is right where it should be. subtle, lyrically complimentary and not obtrusive in a way that takes away from the beauty of the guitar.

  • @duduledhyrule hendrix? he was an awesome singer dude

  • Dudes, Trey's guitar is ridiculous. His playing back then wasn't too shabby either. What an interesting period in rock history - that a group like Oysterhead found success, let alone existence, speaks to the weirdness of the times.

  • moose guitar + 15 respect

  • hahaha, jane's addiction is playing down the street. that's funny because he's assuming people like jane's addiction

  • @mavriksfan11 people do.

  • @BobStoopsHatesJesus maybe idiots, you know kind of like the people who would use "BobStoopsHatesJesus" as a screenname. moron

  • what a rippin tune!!

  • This kicks ass!!!!

  • Copeland Owns

  • damn this is freakin great

  • Instant Eargasm

  • @MrStrangeSensation This was probably ripped from the HBO special about the band that came out not too long after the release of the album. I, too, have been waiting for an Oysterhead DVD.... So I'll be back on to let you know when I find one... But don't kill yourself over it.... because there ain't no cure for suicide...

  • WTF? HOW IS THIS NOT ON DVD!?!?! They obviously had professional cameras covering the show., so why not dammit?! I love Oysterhead so much, I think this was easily Claypool's best project, possibly better than Primus (it's close).

I really wish they would get back together.

  • Such a great performance!

  • @bisco312

I love Les and have seen him and all the different incarnations of his bands since 92 but there are plenty that are/were better than him - Allen Woody, Alphonso Johnson, Marcus Miller, Jaco Pastorius, etc.

  • i thought i was the only dude that loved this shit!!!?!?!

  • Better than the studio version

  • @Jaken213 most of claypools music is (see:Mr. Krinkle)

  • @Jaken213 By a mile

  • i've heard the antlers actually are wired into the guitar and used for distortion

  • the traveling wilburys are the best supergroup ever, not these guys.

  • @sirwojciechowski took the comment out of my fingertips

  • @sirwojciechowski your an asshole

  • @bisco312 if you don't agree with what I said then you're the asshole.

  • Lmao trey has antlers on his guitar.Did trey kill the antelope.lol

  • Agreed!!

  • i know everything

  • oysterhead sucks!

  • @pimpjuicy99 i trhink theonly one who sucks is u and your family!

  • @ucutumia oysterhead sucks is like saying primus sucks you dumbass. its a compliment

  • Drewlsy, you are gay.

  • @axwell21

Agreed. It would be hard to argue against The Trio of Doom tho (Jaco Pastorius, John McLaughlin, Tony Williams - each of them is probably better at their respective instruments than Oysterhead but they are jazz/fusion players not rock musicians). Nonetheless, this band blows my mind every time I listen to them live. Trey's playing hear is just fucking absurd.

  • There is no way their drummer is better than Stewart Copeland.

  • I love Stuart, but Tony Williams who started at the age of 17 with the second Miles Davis quintet is an absolute beast of a drummer. One of the best ever,.

  • @wowbobwow37 I haven't heard him, but does he have his own style? Or is he just fast?

  • @IgnatiusChinaski whos better than claypool on bass? hell slap that smerk right off ur face

  • wtf? is the deal with trey's guitar? i want to know where he got it! and how it was made! lol

  • @nasdan5000 custom built, the deer antler sticking out of it is actually a theremin, which if u dont know what a theremin is, it's a musical instrument in it's self, look it up.

  • who wants to see jane's addiction when you can see les pull some crazy ass bass tricks.......

  • Hands down best supergroup of all time

  • @axwell21 without question. i heard someone on the radio the other day refer to the black eyed peas as a supergroup. i can't really explain the feeling i had. it was something like intense hatred, but i was laughing my ass off at the same time.

  • @axwell21 not sure if i can agree with that. but they are defiantly way up there. Lets not forget about the traveling wilburys now...

  • @sk8er4ever0101 Traveling Wilburys was too many chefs in the kitchen IMO.

  • @axwell21 Go check out Blind Faith. Or Beck, Borgart, Appice, Those are 2 great super groups this band was a good super group but check those out to blind faith to me was the greatest super group to ever form.

  • @axwell21

    Fuckin A man, Fuckin A

  • oooooooooooWAAAA MEEEN BUT THIS IS GREAAAAT !!! THIS THIT IS GREAAAT !!! O MEN I NEVER HEAR NOTHING OF THIS GUYS! NOW I LOVE IT ! IF IV THER IN THAT CONCERT I WILL GO CRAAAZYYY

  • O.O !!!! DRUUUUMS !!!!!!!!! O.O

  • @PLANTATlON that it is...oysterhead,north mississippi allstars iv got it on VHS

  • man what an intense band that was unreal

  • Les is an absolute monster on bass

  • awesome, thanks!

  • What show is this from? Is the full version online anywhere?

  • @walkingdeadted it aired on some HBO special about...10 years ago or so I think.

  • I watch this a couple times a week. Not to sound stupid (I am not a musician) but is this a spliced/shortened version? I have several of their shows and other versions are literally more than twice as long and usually include a bit of Primus' seminal classic "Jerry Was A Race Car Driver." Trey (God's gift to guitar playing (FZ, Herring, Hendrix, etc. notwithstanding)) also usually solos at least 3 or 4 times in other versions. Thanks for posting - sick sick sick!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is AMAZING

  • Best Oysterhead line "he was tumbling like the Bills of Buffalo"

    Materhorn is the bomb too

  • those three put together had to have been the best idea since sliced bread.. oysterhead is monstrous!! some sick sick jammin.. i love trey's guitantler haha whens he gunna bust that out with phish?!

  • i LOVE this

  • Trey's deer-guitar-splice-thing is pretty ballin' indeed!

  • stewart copeland is an animal.

  • @themoonbowisnigh

    so is trey's guitar

  • Trey's, and Les' (bass) guitar is titties!

  • trey isn't a tool...

  • How is trey a tool?

  • not a fan of trey or phish for that matter but this is the supergroup to end all supergroups......... face is melted on the floor, mopping it up as i type......

  • fucking epic Les!

  • That's Stewart Copeland playing with Oysterhead there, great stuff!!

  • Stewart Copeland was IN Oysterhead...

  • treys making quite a statement with that guitar

  • can anyone tell me what bass les is playing in this clip...

  • ifumah, Les is playing a Carl Thompson bass

  • That's his main Carl Thompson bass... I think it's a 1976..

  • Rocking out on the Guitantler!! love it!!

  • yes phish's guitarest great band and song

  • damn I want my own Matterhorn

  • Comment removed

  • there ain't no cure for suicide.....

  • best trio supergroup of all-time? CHECK. wish i could have seen these guys live.

  • omg too much talent on one stage

  • Respect Copeland!

  • oi

Copeland is so much more talented than sting or andy

  • Agreed.

  • god oysterhead was amazing live i remember it to this day, still blows my mind that these three completely different musicians could come together and explode so hard

  • HOLY CRAP THE MATTERHORN!!!!

  • I never realized Copeland held his sticks old school style.

  • fuckin sick song....long live oysterhead! primus has such a different feel to them but i still love themm its trey that gives oysterhead its jammy feel and i love him in phish and all of les's solo shit is greattt

  • the best guitar player and best bass player together rockin the fuck out

  • don't forget best drummer, copeland is fuckin aces high here

  • Love Les's hair here.

  • Les is wearing goggles when he's talking to the crowd, and then when he starts playing, he's not?

  • So much better live, like many of Claypool's brainchildren

  • Les N Stewie= TWO GODS

  • F- YEAH OYSTERHEAD.

i looooove these guys. and i love the police also, which is why i find it totally awesome that stewart copeland plays drums for them.

  • I love primus and all but oyster head is better

  • I honestly can't think of any better collaboration of musicians....ever. They all blow minds to no end.

  • When there was, Les Claypool, Bucket Head, Brain and that other guy I forget his name, but back in those days of Primus that was probably the most amazing collaboration of musicians.

  • r u sure y ou´re in the right place?

  • The guitar is called "Matterhorn" look it up its so sweet!

  • what the fuck is this guitar... lol A kinda half wood half buck? lol I love that. And stewart is an animal as always... He's wringing his drum. I've seen him in france with police and he was the only one moving his ass and sweating to death. good stuff!

  • Stupidly awesome. Anyone know where I can watch the whole show?

  • it doesn't get any better than this amazing group of musicians, beats the living crap out of the other recycled "super" group nonsense that's out there.

    PPP fans UNITE

  • DON'T FORGET THIS SHIT!!!!

  • This nice little song and performance makes my head tingle.

  • lol, treys guitar

  • if a meteor demolished the earth near this stage..... no one would care.

  • Primus fans and Phish fans UNITE!

  • oh, fuck yeah.

  • This song is a hard hitting sonsabitch

  • was this the version of that old hbo show?lol i think i have this performance lol

weird...i wanted to look it up cuz its a nasty song.
