Its hard to say anything from that camera angle. The way I am interpreting it is that it was all over by the time he grabbed the wheel. U have 2 look @ why he grabbed the wheel. Maybe he was just grabbing something to help brace himself for impact. Or maybe he was not correcting properly, and that guy could see it. A lot of people in games can steer into a slide to help traction, but not many can do it in real life. It goes against instinct, 2 steer into the slide. I may be wrong too.
