why am I even wasting time explaining it, but here goes;

1) He's a demon hunter; the soul blade is a demonic sword powerful enough to alter space/time apparently. That is enough to get Dante's attention.

2) The character is enormously popular; Capcom even loaned him out to Atlus for "Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne." He's somewhat of a "celebrity" in video game world.

3) He's an adept swordsman, and what is Soul Calibur about?

Capcom's reluctance could be rooted in contract issues; if Dante apeared in a Soul Calibur game, fans would demand other sword stylist Capcom characters of which there is a small handfull. You'd have to outright have a "Capcom vs Namco" 3D brawl. Remember Zero, from the megaman series? HE, is a swordsman; he'd fit right in in the Soul Calibur universe. So would Strider Hiryu; Capcom has a lot of sword slingers.

You'd also need to include the entire cast of the Onimusha games; the collaboration would not be cheap, although, "Capcom vs...." games have proven to be hits.

"Soul Calibur; Capcom vs Namco" that would be pretty slick. Again, Dante is a demon hunter, so it practically BEGS for a cross over. The Soule Edge is a ridiculously dangerous demonic blade so it has GOT to get Dante's attention sooner or later in that fictional universe, and as Soul Calibur IV has shown, it can skip dimensions.

Devil may cry 4 is about a kid with unnaturally light hair who has a large sword and hunts demons. When he goes to save his girlfriend he gets more powerful and when he unleashes it his weapon turns into a katana and his attacks are much faster and stronger. His goal is to defeat the leader of a group who used everyone for his own goals before revealing his true intentions. Must be me but it sounds alot like the show Bleach. actually, i think that nero`s arm didn`t get infected...hes arm changed because of trying to protect kyrie from the demons....remeber when he was with agnus and that he thought he was gonna die and had a flashback shouting at kyrie to run....that is when he`s arm changed.....sori i`m japanese...soemtimes my english have wrong grammars!!!!

This also explains why the order of the sword has Yamato. Since Nelo Angelo's sword is Yamato the sword just transformed when Vergil got possesed by Mundus. Why Nelo Angelo did this is a mystery to me maybe he was insane or on the verge of death and was just trying to perserve his essence. Like I already said this is just my opinion/speculation so don't flame me telling me what I said is not canon or not true.

It would make sense for Nero's arm to change because of an attack by Vergil's blade (Yamato). But remember Nero's convo with Agnus he mentions a gate, could that be a gate that Vergil used to attack Nero?

I believe that the gate Agnus spoke of was the demon gate in the city. These gates appear several times in the game. As Nero you see the bosses near these gates, and as Dante you destroy these gates. I don't think Nelo Angelo would even have to use one of these gates because he can teleport as we've seen in the past, and he was on mallet island which ia part of the human world. So it would be quite easy for him to attack Nero. And I agree that Vergil may have tried to save himself like that.

DMC5 will come eventually. Capcom is working on some other things atm, like Bayonetta, but DMC is just too good and too popular to end with 4. Remember we still haven't seen who was outside of Dante's shop at the end of DMC2. Lucia hears a motorcycle and it fades to black. It could be Dante or it could be someone else. DMC2 was never ment to be the final game in the story, and DMC3 and 4 were just prequels. So logically there is at least 1 more game to continue the story after DMC2.

It's the worst of the series imo. The combat isn't great and the camera + autolock will make you want to kill yourself at times, but it's worth it to get the story I think. Course you could always just wikipedia it, but it's not the same as playing it obviously. It's still a good game just not quite up to par with 1-3-4.

Its a great series; its the only true evolution from the 16 bit era. That is, 16 bit era gaming, rendered in 3D, minus the colorful graphics but there's nothing wrong with that so long as the game is good.

DMC4 was decent but it wasn't great; 3 is still the best.

Not true my good sir. Devil may cry 3 is a prequel, DMC2 happens more than 10 years after DMC3, closer to 20 years after if I recall. Dante meets Lady after the Cerberus boss fight in mission 3 of DMC3. He doesn't meet her outside his shop. He meets her in the Cerberus boss fight room where she shoots a missle at him. :) For everyone's information, the order of the games in story is as follows, 3, 1, 4, 2. It hasn't been confirmed who is outside the shop, but it's not when he meets Lady.

It could be Lady outside the shop but when he met her, and the end of DMC2 are like 20 years after each other, so those events are not related at all. If it is Lady outside his shop, that just means she showed up out of the blue.

For anyone that doesn't know Nelo Angelo is Vergil under the control of Mundus. Dante hurts Nelo Angelo pretty bad in their final fight but there is no evidence that says he dies. I suspect that after he teleports away he ends up at the HQ for Nero's order. Upon his arrival he battles Nero where he slashes his arm (hence the infection part) but it wasn't really an infection it was Vergil's essence. More in next post.

Nero's arm changed after he was attacked by a demon. It is not known what this demon is but it infected Nero's arm and afterward it changed. That's why his arm is in the cast at the start of the game. Since this is after DMC1 but before DMC2 in terms of story I suspect that the demon that attacked Nero is what remained of Nelo Angelo. Since you never see Nelo Angelo die after fight 3 he just teleports away and leaves Dante with the other half of the amulet. More in next post.

And to add to my previous list, Dead Rising; its not a franchise yet but its as good as one.
