  • Gods, I'm getting to love these re-releases. Back in the day, the Hotshot was the business and its still looking good thirty odd years later.

  • Im eagerly awaiting the FAV due to re launch soon. My first tamiya and therefore obviously the best. I hope Im not disappointed.

  • @modelmarvel

I don't think you will be. The Tamiya Centre in town has a demo model up and built. Clearly some small tweaks here and there, but I'd lay good money that it will have you hooked from the get-go.

  • This was my first car now I have a Traxxas Bandit VXL Velineon Brushless power with a LiPo 11.1v battery. Fast.

  • I just ordered one. Im an old timer RC guy from way back when getting back into the RC scene after a 5 year absense.

  • Quite a fast car consisting it's running a standard 540 motor.. Now you need to add brushless and see her go:)

  • wow u can drive in circles

    & the hotshot is 4wd

had the '86 edition , just mysell the 2008 edition .... newer version is a cheaper build really

  • HELP PLEASE. Newbie here. I just got an Expert Built Ready To Race Hotshot.

Can't figure out how to install the antenna! I see the 'holder' but there's no hole at the bottom, there's a screw. Thanks.

  • FAST!

  • That moves along pretty quick!

  • those look like a lot of fun

  • damn, that a nice handling buggy

  • Is everything stock in the video?

  • Hi

Yes everything stock except the esc which is a water proof mtronics marine 25.

    Regards

    MM

  • 5 stars

  • its 4WD?

  • Hi

    The Hotshot is only 2WD.

    Regards

  • no mines 4wd

  • With all due respect, the Hot Shot always was 4wd. my old one is and it looks like this one is as well. (you can see the front drive shafts at the begining of this vid)

  • @modelmarvel

thats bullshit, its a true 4WD. got it standing right beside me with a built in tamiya superstock bz with original dustmask and the teu101bk. the best esc for every >140W motor IMHO

like the car very much, its a great appearance among all the new buggys which all look pretty much the same...

  • @modelmarvel if its two wheel drive why do i see front axles, i have an original hotshot from the 80's, not running but im working on it

  • what would be the lowest turn motor you could put in?

  • You could get away with a 19T with the TEU101BK but you'd be pushing it to it's max. A better solution is to run Tamiya black can super stock on 7 cells.

  • those poor poor tires....

  • As for the tires they will run for a long time. I had mine and never changed the tires once. The tires are made of a very hard rubber.

I later put a 16 turn motor in it with 7 cell pack and it really hauled. This brings back many good memories of this car

  • I read the re-release tires are softer

  • Wow, amazing.

  • Why thank you very much!

  • is that stock? if not what does it have? Thanks

  • Totally stock!

  • The car seems great! NIce clean build; very nice work!

How do you like the car? It seems like a blast!

  • Bit of a let down at home but me thinks it would make up for that on sand

  • Great ro see this again. I had a Marui Samurai and a Boomerang then a Optima Mid Turbo. A;ways loved this car as a Kid. I#m thibkibg of buying one agian!
