Played the whole game with the F/A-18 superhornet! I loved the sidewinder or what ever long range air to air missile it had and when it comes to breaking havoc on the ground it also has antitank missiles to deal with the even heavist of enemy fortifications. Excellent song! Truly a masterpiece...

I preferred the F-15 through most of the campaign. Well, until I got the game-breaking bird that is the CFA-44. Nothing like the sound of the ADMM's firing. "Garuda 1, Drive!"

hmm... well, it was moving pretty fast, but when i first discovered it I didnt pull behind it (like someone who might fail geometry class)

Its no dogfighter, its just got some speed to it.

I went to high altitude, then dove to get my speed up, and then set a good intercept course and i actually fired the missile immediately after lock on, AS IT PASSED ME. If you can anticipate it, you are able to engage it head on. This would be my advice

Use an XMA4 or XMA6 (or fuck it and send all your ammo its way =)) from about a range of 22000 feet heading in the opposite direction and try and stay behind it and stick to regular missles (for tough bosses like pasternak).

The raptor isn't as good as the flanker or the terminator, I dislike the raptor purely because every goes on about it. i always mainly used Russian aircraft because they are much more fun to fly and make the game better than just flying in with the Raptor. It's a godd plane but really isn't the best.

We don't. Why spend millions of dollars on a plane that tries to do everything, when we can spend a lot less money on planes that can only do one role, but a lot better?

It doesn't try to do everything, it's mainly a fighter. It can attack ground targets but is better for air to air combat. That's where the F-35(aka Joint Strike Fighter) comes in. It's abilities are probably more balanced than the F-22's but it leans more towards ground attack. So the F-22 is more of an air to air fighter, and the F-35 is more of an air to ground aircraft. But both can change roles if it is necessary.

But the F-22's superiority will hopefuly make up for the fact that there aren't very many of them. The idea is that if your planes are the best in the world, then you won't need a whole bunch of them.

I doubt it, the F-22 being destoryed would be such a morale sapper. With planes out there like the MiG-35 and the Su-30 MKI and mostly the T-50 PAKFA, the USAF needs more payload, speed and manoeuvrability. Legacy era designs like the Fulcrum and the Flanker dominate the skies of the east, the USAF's F22 is too reliant on stealth

@Yamaha950 The brits aren't exactly great when it comes to planes. The Aussies give the Su-30 and the F-22 a stalemate, tho they don't know stat about planes either. State of the art electronics? haha, an APG-77 has a lower aperture than the IRBIS-E. The Su-35 it self, let alone the T-50, can simultaneously track and engage more targets than the raptor. The T-50 has a MUCH higher TWR, which would make it a real raptor killer in future

The raptor's computer has the capability to serve as a mini awacs.

I found no support for the more targets of twr one way or the either, but lets say your T-50 does have it in this situation, it cant track the raptor (remember, russia doesnt have the needed materials to produce true stealth, although it will certainly have a smaller signature than planes past) where as the raptor can track it, while in supercruise, something the T-50 doesnt have.

most likely an Irbis-E can only detect an F-22 if the F-22 is turning. opening the weapons bay doors will make its RCS to be just like any other fighter jet.
