@suram08 yes... u can get it increased... i removed ma airfilter and now im back to the stock filter... and i really miss K&N... :)

Hi Kailas,

How did you mange to fix the K&N filter in to the stock filter box. I bought a K&N recently, but I couldn't fix it. I don't want to fix it directly on to the carb. I checked the inlet pipe from the stock filter box, its oval. I hope I don't have to break the stock filter box to accomodate the K&N. Please advise.

What's commonly available around here are air filters for cars and big bikes only.

Because when their is more air entering our engine equals increase in acceleration and combustion efficiency, which that means better fuel burning in your engine to provide more power.

@46archer Nothing to worry or nothing to do bro. rain water wont enter while riding as the filter will b under ur seat. nothing to worry. performance- pik has increased a little, and some 3kmph increase in top speed, 2-3 km milage drop.

@kailas1412 if you do matching jets tune on carb to use the increased air flow do an matching exhaust, you will actually see better fuel economy and better torque.

we see this quite often with exhaust mods and after market intakes. but after re-jetting the carbs or remapping the ecu the bike will feel lot different

I installed the K&N filter in my FZ. After installation I washed my bike and when i tired to start it, the bike was dead. Later on I opened the seat cover to see any problem with the new air filter. It was sad to see that water entered through the opening of seat cover and drained the filter. Is there any solution for this or any problem with the air filter when it gets wet.

hey man, currently i am in ahmedabad and called up the local k an n filter shop and he told me that the filter is worth1700 plus150 installation. i definitely want to get it, one thing i wanted to ask you is how is it going to affect the average of the bike?

na man.... i guess u have more than enough money with ya. u jus give him the air filter and he will fit it and give it for u. but be sure tht u give to a good mechanic. i mean experienced. he may take some 100 or 200 as fittin charge thts it. have fun riding around with K&N man... its been six or seven months ive got this and im still havin fun... pz out... let me know when u get it fixed. all the best.

hey man... yeah its rc 1060. and no there was no problem after installing this... im happy after i installed this... pikup increased and the sound.. feels awesome man... there was a drop of milage at the rate 3km per liter. other than that.... its awesome...

there was some three to four kilometer cut in milage... and it used to cry to reach 100 without the filter... but it had reached 117 kmph before the filter was fixed... now it easily reaches 100 kmph without strain and the top speed now is 125-126kmph...

If speed is what you're after, why are you riding an FZ? It is only a 150-cc commuter bike with an additional degree of oomph stirred into the mix.

Invest in a real motorcycle if you're only interested in numbers on your speedo. Otherwise, ride the FZ like the zippy, fun commuter bike it is.

thanx 4 the rep(yam delears say it'll not effect the warrenty)....n 1 more thing though...once ya install a air filter such as a k&n, the airflow to the engine increases.....should we increase the fuel flow to the engine 2 balance it out?? coz more air n less fuel will effect d performance of the bike naa.....hav ya increased d fuel flow 2 ya bikes engine?....,,.bcoz your bike sounds really good in the fly by video....;+)

no... i haven't done anything like that bro... i dont think it needs to be increased... unless u dont wanna lose ur milage... i used to get a milage of 43 before... after installed k&n its dropped to 40. (avg speed 50-60 kmph will get 50 if u ride 30-35 kmph). but the point is ... no need to increase the fuel flow... what happened before is, the fuel used to burn with a limited amount of air... but now ... it'll burn efficiently....

I don't see why better airflow to the engine should result in bad fuel economy figures. If you are going to go all out, get the cabling and plug changed in addition to the filter. You -might- need to re-jet your carb; consult a good, trusted mechanic before making any changes.

there is nothin like this many kilometers it should run before u get it fitted dude... its ur wish... but do ask ur dealer before u fit it whether the bike's warranty will void if u get it fitted. if he says the warranty will void, then fix it after all ur free services or else ... your free services will not be valid. thanks for the comment btw. :)

Yes they will..so don't get caught in an accident or go for servicing with one of these during the warranty period. However, it may be contested if the cause/damage (what u are claiming in the warranty) is not related to the change of air filter.

i agree to that. yes the warranty will get void if u fit the K&N air filter as i think... but you can see this on top of the box of K&N air filter "Warranty of the vehicle will not be void if you fit the K&N air filter" ... you better ask the dealer or where ever you go for servicing before you fit the air filter.
